I first heard this song shortly after my mom was diagnosed with cancer and it made me feel... everything. She passed through the Gates just a few hours into 2024, and I listened to this song when everyone else left the funeral. "Don't follow me down" is the only reason I'm still here, I know she wouldn't want me to. Thank you for the amazing track, no other song captures my feelings better.

I lost my girlfriend of 10 years to cancer and this song has been cherished by me as a way to wade through the swamp. I love you for everything you bring to us. You must never cease

Gunship is one of those bands that comes along every 40-50 years that is just the best fucking thing to happen to music for an entire generation.

My favourite Gunship song... I can listen to this when I'm in every mood, good for chill or when I'm sad or happy.. I just love it so much! To me Gunship is the perfect music to commute to work everyday, somehow it always makes my morning better! I'm so glad I found this band 🖤 thank you Gunship🖤

This song pulled out tears from so deep I cannot even describe it properly. Like it wasn't an ugly cry, or a grief stricken cry. It was just water flowing from my eyes with no effort, no anger, no fear, from a place of endless tempered sorrow. It was one of the strangest cries of my life.

This is one of those songs, those rare songs, that can pull something dark and painful and sad from deep within you that you forgot was even there... and make you weep... and not even know why you are weeping. The kind of weeping that actually feels like afterwards you may have healed some deep pain ever so slightly.

So glad to hear those pipes being belted out, the choruses mixed with he synth invoke some pure emotion. We don't deserve yall.

It is midnight, suddenly the sirens go off across the place, doesn't seem like a drill, I get up in a reflex, she is holding my hand and doesn't want me to go. The operator speaks through the box "All personnel respond to their battlestations, this is not a drill!". Her eyes give an ominous look, she pulls in closer for a hug, whispering: "We can hold on hope". I get out, she runs for another embrace as I tell her "Don't follow me down, I promise I'll find you soon!". Running towards the elevator, I hear the cracking sound, red lights everywhere, hoping that the elevator works. I am in, moving up fast, and as I enter the plateau on the top level, a sight to behold, The Gates of Disorder ahead of us. My gear is ready, the operator is missing so I man the ship myself, the engines roar and I drift into the open water. Onward I go to face the Destroyer of Worlds, I am not afraid, hope is my fuel and now it is just me, a memory of her, and my Gunship.

every tune made by gunship, and all other synthwave tunes is much better than today's mainstream music.

This song just hits different. To me it speaks of a young father becoming Old. Wondering now if what he really did in this life for his young family. Growing up in modernization. The now old Father, praying his young family that goes on after the giants in the sky, take him. Will they hold onto anything he gave them.

Awaken by the sound and flashing of danger sirens. I see the civilians running from the danger to evacuation pods from a little window in our small cramped room. My family, a family of 3 looking at me without saying a word, knowing the danger I must face as a pilot. I bring them close for one last embrace. I tell them this is not the last time they will see me, that I will find them wherever they may be. But I know this is not true. As my family begins to exit the room to escape, I suit up and run to my Gunship. Running opposite way from civilians. Running along the other pilots who are not many, only a few survive now. I enter my Gunship, it's pitch black but the lights of my dashboard and computers light up my cockpit. I begin to ascend to the danger outside. I close my eyes hoping it is not what we have been expecting for months. I open my eyes slowing, and it is. I see the Gates of Disorder have finally opened, and behold... the Destroyer of Worlds. The other pilots have already engaged it. Missiles and machine gun fire seem to do no harm. I turn on my radio system and hear screams of terror. I also hear "Green 7, engage! Green 7, engage!" As tears run down my cheeks and memories of my family fill my mind. I, pilot of Green 7, lock in and begin to descend to engage the Destroyer of Worlds...

A few years ago I was at a point where it felt like the world was completely disconnected from the one I grew up in. Then i found synthwave, and Gunship. Thanks for being part of the reconnection, and thanks for all the great music.

Deliberately replaced a blown speaker from a modern PC speaker set with a way older paper cone 20 yrs ago. The horrid howl the organic one gave in the first 25s seemed impossible unless planned. Props to all of us, for that.

I love how this gives fuel to imagination, nostalgic feelings and inspiration. Although the dark lyrics are there it still has a positive effect. One of my favorite songs of the album, of Gunship for that matter. You guys are special. Thank you.

Gunship fulfills needs that I knew and those I didn't.

Every track I have listened to of your music just keeps getting better and better. The music sets a great ambiance to listen to in the dark you don't even need to see a video but sometimes the video helps to tell a story to go with the music.

Album cover gives me chills every time I pull the Vinyl off the shelf to play it. Just so you guys know.
