It'd be cool to have you do one on the early to mid 90s alternative industrial band "Machines of Loving Grace". They had That one great song on "The Crow" soundtrack "Golgotha tenement Blues". They had three great albums! Their first self-titled, Then their second "concentration", which had the most well-known song "Butterfly Wings" On it, and their final album called "guilt". Witch had a song in the soundtrack for the Angelina Jolie film "hackers". Called "richest junkie still alive (snake mix)". They were supposed to come out with another record around 97-98, but never did. I would very much like to find out what happened to them, and why they broke up?

Spacehog was so underrated. All of their records are clever and catchy. Like several other 90s bands, they suffered at the hands of Neglectra Records, which utterly failed to promote The Chinese Album. Their 2013 album showed they still have the chops. I'd love to hear more new music from the band.

The band released its debut album in ‘95 and has a huge hit single with “In The Meantime”. Then it’s follow-up album in ‘98 doesn’t even chart? That smacks of the effects of The Telecommunications Act of 1996 - which had the unintentional effect of pushing rock songs off of commercial radio.

@@Bozar069 That sounds just like what happened here in NYC area. That Meantime song was being played over and over, then in the summer, that alternative station became a classic rock station that just played oldies. Its still a classic rock station to this day. Thanks for this! 👍 I live in the USA so I didn't hear a lot from these guys. They did get a lot of airplay for In The Meantime, but I really can't remember anything else. In fact, I had forgotten the band name until today. I'll definitely listen to more now though, since watching this. For me, In The Meantime was a great song that grabbed me immediately. You mention that they were influenced by David Bowie. This was evident to me for the first half of the song. What made even more of a connection for me though, was from the bridge onwards. It might be just my own perception, but starting at the bridge, I felt a strong Blue Oyster Cult influence that stays with the rest of the song. All of this was evident to me the first time I heard it, and I never got tired of hearing it played on the FM.

Love Spacehog! They are very underated group that should of gotten more attention. I have kept track of their projects over the years I wish I had my old videos tapes and cassettes so I can post them online for everyone to hear but I lost them when I moved 16 years ago. I had their albums and their singles when I was a teenager they weren't easy to find especially stuff on Roy and Antony's little brother Christian that was in Arckid, Cube and Kid Symphony. And "The Chinese Album" was very underated it was in fact it was going to be a basis for a film and the songs were going to tell the story of the Hogs in China but for some reason it never happened I remember the Spacehog mailing list where the band would keep in touch with all of the fans who tried to do a grassroots campaign to play their music on the radio. Besides, "In the Meantime", my favorites are "Cruel to Be Kind" , "Space Is The Place", "One of These Days", "Lucy's Shoe", "Most Beautiful Girl In The World", "Candyman", " 2nd Avenue", "The Last Dictator", "Now I'm Only Dreaming", "The Horror", cover versions of Senses Working Overtime, Lap of the Gods, and Crack City, etc.

LOVE Spacehog, I've covered "In the Meantime" a few times in a couple of bands I've played in (one of my favorite bass lines to play). They had a song on Hogessy called "At Least I Got Laid" that is also a banger. Look I am a newcomer of this band.....I am an ols folk sense the 60's and David Bowie is one of my all-time favorite artist...and a few weeks ago the band was randomly picked to react to one of their big hits, "In The Meantime" on Rob Squad reactions on You Tube and these reactor really like this band and requested more songs to react to... Then I later discovered that "In The Meantime" was one the main song on the Soundtrack and movie, Guardians of The Galaxy Part 3 and I went besserk!!! I did! Look!!! I am all in with this rock band, Spacehog. Love the guitarist...the bassist....the drummer....and especially the lead singer's David Bowie's voice!!! What's his name...Antony Langton...priceless....That whole group is very special.... with the music industry sold on Hip-Hop and Rap...no one wanted to take a chance on them but through "The Guardians of The Galaxy" movie....there are millions of David Bowie fans out here that would love to hear...Langton's voice again with the group of course.....Tell them we are waiting for them to release a song or album....."in The Meantime" is being played constantly on the US. Great video about an underrated band. This has a lot to due with my age, but right when I was getting into music MP3s and Napster started becoming a big thing shortly thereafter. I have a huge album collection, but a friend of mine gave me 2 cds with like 300 mp3s on each. For whatever reason there were 2 Spacehog songs on the album, first I had heard of them, I honestly can't remember if the other one was in the meantime, but the one I latched onto quickly was "Beautiful Girl". I still like that song to this day and a song I would always drop onto a mixtape I was making for a girl I liked. (I'm sure that was way more than anybody cared about, but hopefully I turned you on to a good song)

I remember being 10 years old, going to a futuristic new music store, and listening to Resident Alien on these powerful headphones. It was mind blowing.

For some reason, for the longest time I thought Spacehog played Counting Blue Cars. Now I always associate that song with In The Meantime.

Ya, two one hit wonders that came out with really good songs around the same time, guess that’s why I confused them

Love Spacehog. They made some fantastic music, and I still listen to the albums very often. I've never understood why they weren't bigger than they were, always seemed to be on the fringes rather than in the spotlight. A bit of a shame.

The Chinese Album is phenomenal and very underrated. It just didn’t catch on commercially. Resident Alien, in contrast, blew up because it had a huge hit when people still purchased albums for one song.

I actually bought their debut album on cassette and listened to it for a few years on my Walkman as a kid back in the nineties.

I just picked up Resident Alien on vinyl two days ago. In summer of 1995, Clear Channel played In the Meantine at least 9 times a day. I always liked it, but was naive about all kinds of different music and wouldn't discover its brilliance until two days ago. And boy, did I mishear the lyrics back then. Just. So. Good. God.

Resident Alien was, is a great record. In an era of great music it stood alone in pop rock. All the grunge followers were getting tired, but SpaceHog was fresh. This record is still in my yearly rotation. Thank you for the video.

In the Meantime was etched into my memory and paired with the movie Nadja. They created an East Village balance if that makes any sense.

Usually when you have a hit like that, like the one in 1995, there is almost always a follow up song that gets on the radio. It did not happen and I was shocked. I think that the label screwed up. The radio stations beat that song to death too in 1995.

It's one of a small handful of songs I can actually play note for note on the bass. (Not a bass player, I'm a guitarist.) Such a unique and groovy bassline.
