In the old days (very old days) it was considered unmanly to wear hearing protection. That was fine until I started shooting 357 magnum. With every shot it actually hurt. Unmanly or not, I started wearing plugs. I’m paying the price now in my 70’s. Great video sir.

22LR may be 125dB out of some bolt rifles but out of a handgun it's a lot louder than that. Just so your viewers are aware.

For sure! My point was just that 125 is on the low end for firearms.

Protect your hearing guys once it's gone it's gone. Lossing your hearing sucks. I lost over 90% of my hearing in my left ear in my early 20s. Worst part is i cant tell where noises coming from anymore. Thanks dustin I really like electronic hearing protection i will look into these.

Very important lesson to learn from others instead of from experience. I am thankful for my dad who always without question made us wear ear plugs. And I have followed that ever since. I honestly don't think I have ever shot a gun without them.

I don't like my ears covered unless I can still hear, so I got the electronic ear muffs. My head is too big to wear the muffs when I shoot a rifle, so the in-the-ear ones would be a lot better. Thanks for the review Dustin!

Years ago, I bought a pair of electronic muffs. They’re great, but they don’t work with my hat. LOL!! These are a better option for me.

@Guns Of The West Hey I was curious where can I practice my shooting with black powder gun? What type of Range should I Google in order to use it? I don't believe you can use a normal fire ranges but i'm not sure please help me because I want to try to Enjoy this I can't own a regular Fire arm Also do you know of any training courses? That 1 can take to understand the tools better. I've seen plenty of videos explaining how the powder works and how much powder and going caps in all And I know there's pacific kits but there's nothing like in person experience

Great video I use to be a ground keeper at a school district and I had some short time hearing damage. It was bad enough could not hear the low notes on the guitar. Awesome video. I have been using ear muffins at the range my issue is there are not comfortable I tried cheap ear plugs and i could almost hear my 22 like if I wasn't wearing anything

Are these compatible with plain noise reduction ear muffs? (Double protection of plugs + muffs for the very loud ones) Do they still pass through/amplify speech and other low volume sounds?

i am not 21 yet, and just bought the .31 paper cartridge form from your company, for the Uberti 1859 I got recently for use as an EDC, I am really excited as it will be very convenient for target practice and corrosion prevention when using it as an edc for long periods of time. one question though, with the paper cartridge, nail polish around the primer, and homemade lube in front of the bullet, how long do you think I can leave it loaded without risking damp powder or corrosion?

As long as everything is sized correctly and the powder is dry, it can stay loaded indefinitely. Thanks for watching!

ive already clicked on the link..i may end up investing in these.the only ear plugs i have are the same ones i started out with a LONG time ago and it might just be a good idea to upgrade to something better

Does the fact that you need hearing aids make your review not as valid? I'm not trying to knock you it's an honest question.

That’s a fair question. I don’t think it invalidates the review. The damage to my hearing causes specific problems like issues with word recognition and trouble with certain tones. I can still hear how much these plugs reduce the decibels.
