This is a great tour for those who are interested in fish biology and ecology. You'll learn about the different types of fish and the habitats they live in. This is a fascinating tour that will give you a glimpse into the world of fish!
An in-depth look at our inside guppy room at the AZ location. We have several varieties and hundreds of guppies in this 10x10 room that is designed to fit the needs of the breeder. Almost all of these guppies also have outdoor ponds that fish are raised in as well.
Our guppies are fed a diet of baby brine shrimp, frozen brine shrimp, frozen blood worms, and the highest quality flaked foods.
Our plant selection is a carefully chosen collection of aquatic plants that are particularly suited for shrimp and guppy habitats and breeding. All plants are easy to propagate and do not require, but benefit from Co2.

Thank you!! Great question. Not in all of the tanks, we do in some for the plants that require it and some that do not for propagation purposes. Almost all of our plants will do fantastic without it; the only difference being the grow time.

Thank you. A LOT of really critical and unhelpful people would definitely say that there are "too many" fish in the tank, especially at 5:05 +++ . As long as I have enough oxygen, I keep my tanks the same and they are just as active.

Yeah, there is so many myths and misinformation in the hobby with regards to number of fish in a tank. I'm 100% with you; as long as the tank is balanced and the fish are happy, you can keep a massive amount in a single tank!

I do at least a 20% water change per week and keep my parameters accurate and I have over 50 guppies in a 20 gallon. If you know what you are doing, You can have more than recommended fish in a tank. That inch per gallon rule is just for a rough estimation.

I love your collection of Guppies 😍 a question, I don’t see any bubble oxygen in the tanks so does it mean the plants are providing enough oxygen?

Hey Zayan, almost all of our tanks and ponds have sponge filters which provide oxygen, those that do not have hang on back filters which disturbs the water, also oxygenating the water. For videos we sometimes turn the air pump off because it is very loud.

Hm, interesting idea. The only issue is we use a variety of all of those things depending on the size of the tank or pond. Did you have a specific setup in mind?

Good looking room! I'm currently setting up a breeding project for some blue panda guppies. What would you recommend for a colony tank size wise? I'm thinking of doing 2 x 20 gallons for main colonies (two incase I lose one) 2 x 10 gallons for fry and or male female holding and a 2 x 20gallon bins for culls that don't make the mark and will be sold cheap to lfs. Sound like a good plan to you? Btw all tanks wil be loaded with tons of biological media with internal filters and a variety of plants.

Sounds like a killer setup! I would say at least one 20 and one 10, for the main colony and one for culls. Anything more is great!

We separate the fry from adults, but not by fry gender. When color comes in on the guppies, the mutations are separated into a cull tank that is delivered to local fish stores.

As needed, as much as 3x/week or as little as 1x/month Depends on the a amount of plants/fish and observable conditions.

We go by size, when they're larger than the mature guppies mouth, you're good!

Great question! We've been using a variety of lights in the past trying to figure out which one we like the most. I think we have an answer to that question and will have a video on it in the next week or so. I'll send a link in this thread once the video comes out so you can get a detailed explanation!

Is it true that male guppies with Ribbon Fins cannot reproduce?

Not that they can't reproduce......Sometimeswhen you hit the threshold of inbreeding ribbon's, It causes the gonopodium to grow too large for the male to use so they can't breed. This started showing up when breeders started to try to make the ribbon gene more dominant and longer. So you just have to watch the offspring for that matter and if it starts happening, You have to start an outcross strain to correct it.

9:45 looks like dumbo mosaic guppies to me

They do! We keep them for a few generations to make sure they breed true before we label it as anything. Sometimes these strains throw off 5-10% of their fry with mutations but they still carry the parent genes.
