The Gur Pare Recipe is a traditional Punjabi sweet that is made during winters or when there is a special occasion in the family. Gur Para or Gud Pare Recipe is prepared with fried dough coated in jaggery syrup and flavoured with fennel seeds.

Ingredients:
Maida - 500 gms/2cups
Ghee - 150 gms/ ½cup
Baking powder - ¼ tsp
Baking soda - ¼ tsp
Water - 100ml/1cup (approx)|
For syrup -
Gur (crushed jaggery) - 500gms/ 2½ cups
Water - a dash
Saunf (fennel seeds) - 1tbsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp

Hello Chef. You have asked us to share our experiences with gud. I want to say that I am over 82 years, am a great-grandmotherand by the Grace of God have no High BP, Cholesterol, Diabetes or Heart problems. I attribute this to my avoidance of white sugar, and using jaggery in tea as well as in sweet dishes. I wish you and all your viewers good health and long life. God bless you all.

Chef Kunal. Greetings from New Zealand. Another tip for good health for you and your readers. Take one cup badam, one cup badisep and half cup khadi shakar. Grind fine. Store and have it once a day, preferably with milk. Also have Chywanprash.
