I love fried chicken, even though I am not supposed to have it, I do every now and then. I really like chicken breasts with a bone, not boneless but good ones are hard to find. My mouth is watering just watching yall eat it. The way I fix mine, I start on Friday with a salt brine, Saturday really old fashioned thick buttermilk, then Sunday, roll it in self rising flour, fry in deep fat. It has alot of good crumbs on it. The salt brine and the buttermilk makes it really moist and tender. Now, yall got me wanting fried chicken. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for warning about the spices - I can't really do any spices. I could go just for sweet tea (LOL) - love that! I lived in W Knoxville when I was there (aww, you made me miss it there so much!), so I could have taken the bus right to it; it's near campus. You can tell they are serious about their chicken with nothing else on the menu and not even boneless chicken. They mean fried chicken business! hehe Great video, as always!

Lived in Knoxville my whole life the best fried chicken in town is S and S cafateria , I don't like spice either but have eaten Gus's not to bad but S and S is the best try it out next time you are in town .

My gosh it sure was a busy place, but that speaks volumes about the quality of the food. It sure looks delicious and while I shouldn't eat much fried food, I do love good Fried Chicken and lately wings are a favorite here too. I checked their locations and low and behold I find that we have a Gus's not far from my home a few cities over, I think the hubs and I are going to have to do a field trip, LOL. My mouth is watering watching the two of you enjoy your lunch, and Pecan Pie is probably one of my all time favorites, so much so when I was pregnant for my daughter it was what I craved, I ate way more than I should have back then, but gosh I loved it, my daughter must have had enough before she was born because she doesn't care for it at all. Not a bad price for good food, thank you for sharing this place with us.

And, the chicken is very good, but Golden Girls in Clinton has broasted chicken that is the very very best in Knoxville area. Gus’s is spicier. And I forgot, we tried the Mac and cheese last time, YUM YUM!

This video made me want some fried chicken. We have a place locally back in my home town that is famous for its fried chicken . People drive from all over to get it and reminds me alot of the Gus’s Fried Chicken I don’t think it’s as Spicy . It has a little heat to it. We actually went to food 101.. been wanting to go many times but when we saw your video we went there and took your advice... got there at 11 when they first opened.. it was excellent. .. we will definitely go back!! Wow thank you for a great video. You made me want some Gus’s Fried Chicken. No location close to me though. I live in Popeye’s territory. Gus’s chicken and sides looked so much better than Popeye’s. Popeye’s is too commercialized and Gus’s looks like home made and down home cooking. I grew up on KFC and they used to have potato salad. Now you can’t find potato salad at chicken places. I miss that. Glad you went out of your way to get some great chicken.

The plate of food looks like it was prepared at home - poor presentation. This food looks nothing like the food at the Mason or Memphis, Tennessee locations.

Overrated I can definitely Frye Chicken better than that and it looks like they need to change their oil
