For Israel, I believe so; it has something to do with religious sentiment. But for India, I can say there is no connection. Most Indonesians don’t know about politics in India. Indonesian media rarely broadcast news from South Asia. Even most Indonesians don’t know about controversial news regarding an ancient mosque destroyed by some radicals. Even though there is this heated relationship between Hinduism and Islam in India, there is no hatred toward Hindus in Indonesia. As I said, we rarely hear news about what is happening in South Asia.

Israel is an obvious choice in any islamic country, however seeing India as second most hated(although with a very limited sample size) leaves question on Indian soft power. Indian diplomatic missions and cultural missions like ICCR seem more active in western countries and not that much in it's own backyard. It can be debatable but in subconscious reason of India being second will definitely be propoganda of Wahabi prechears against India,who are gaining prominence in Indonesia too. Probably most Indonesians don't know that India is the only non islamic country having such big Muslim population which has rose from 7.5 % at the time of indipendence to almost 15 % now. Infact by 2030 India will have the biggest Muslim population in the world surpassing even Indonesia. Besides India host second largest number of mosques in the whole world, not to mention numerous sufi shrines and historic mosques here. It's our failure that we are not able to publicise these records to Islamic world. From sharing a similar Hindu -Biddhist past, both of countries share a lot of cultural traits. Indian foreign mission should treat it as an opportunity to improve it's image in Southeast Asia.

in regards of india: i’ve met quite a plentiful of people with physical appearances that is reminiscent of the subcontinental indian population, while all of them speak fluent indonesian, they are somewhat shy, preserved and aloof when i ask about their ethnicity/where they come from. yes, these are also people that have been part of indonesian society that they understand indonesian fluently. this brings us back into other asian countries that still treat people like this, like, ahem, *japan?* in regards to israel: none. i’m sorry for israeli citizens having to go through all this. i can’t think how i’ll live as an israeli, literally unable to enjoy life outside of israel

This is not true. You can open google maps right now and visit any random street in any town in India. If you open street view, you either see a pile of rubbish right next to the street, or not far down from where you are. There is rubbish thrown everywhere. Indians simply do not have the culture of cleaning after themselves.

as an indonesian , i ever visited india , south india is literally different other than any region, the cleanliness and hygiene have to improve. just like indonesia , there are some places that similar like south india. in the north india , its very beautiful, mostly clean and hygiene. the people are similar like indonesia, so yeah, dont hate the country. talking about racism , every country have racism, even Indonesia, religion insult, skin tone, culture, ethnic, etc.
