So glad you like this!! The hate for this is completely undeserved because this is just such a fun, feel-good song, not nearly as bad as everyone acts like it is. Seriously, if you take everyone's comments seriously you would think it's as bad as Finland 2015.

People are pissed because they watched the whole show and their favorites didn't win. Millions of people will hear it for the first time without being biased. I personally love it, its uplifting, vocals are good, he's got charisma, hope he'll keep backing vocalists as well, and good luck Belgium!

I don't hate the song and the sanger, but it's questionable how this ended first. Their were other contestant who were much more popular (Chérine, Gala Dragot and the Starlings, however the last one only in Flanders).

This is typically the song everyone hate at first but after performing on eurovision stage everyone will dance and it will qualify and place top 10 🤣 (like Belgium in 2016 or Moldova 2017-2018)

The thing, is on social media, people talk more in a negative way then a positive way... The song is in a way a love song, it's an ode to the people who made you you en support you (family, spiritually, friends, LGBTQIA+,....). Fun fact: the visuals are from his husband en the backing vocalists are good friends of his, so the act matches the song. So it makes sense that the vocalists will come to Liverpool.

The backup singers are such an underrated part of what makes this song great and the fact that they’re his friends makes a lot of sense because their chemistry is great!

I completely agree boy. I like this song as well. It’s my #1 so far. Even I had another favourite in the national final (which was Ameerah), Gustaph’s victory is completely ok. We all have different tastes and preferences, so I don’t understand the hate around Gustaph’s song. It’s a nice, feel good entry and I think it has good chances to qualify.

Lyrics remind me of I am what I am from last year. But where that song lacked energy and good beat this song brings. I didn't like it the first time I listened to it, but after a couple listens I enjoy it. Sleeper top 10 song.

it is certainly not a bad song. but there two or three songs that would certainly be top ten or higher in Liverpool.And I am not sure this will get to the final. but it is still catchy and he has an excellent voice.

The popular vote in Belgium went Starlings' Rollercoaster. Not sure but that might, partially, explain the hate. The song the people voted for did not win.

The problem was that the Belgian NF was really strong with several fan favorites. No one, even not VRT expected this one to win. The favorites were Cherine, Gala, Ameerah and The Starling. And honestly those songs were much better! But Gustaph is an amazing singer and performer. I love his voice but not a fan of the song.

the thing is that in the national final, there were really better songs like Cherine - Ca m'ennuie pas and Gala Dragot - T'inquiète which were way much more original and cool, really x)

I listened to the songs you mentioned. Personally I like Gala Dragot (and I dont like Cherine at all), but I think Gustaphe will appeal better to juries and audience.

Gala is music I’d be more likely to listen to on my own but Gustaph had a better song for Eurovision. I wanted to like Chérine but her performance fell a bit flat unfortunately.

I disagree, Belgian society is very open for gay people, thete were this year just too many good entries in the national final, too many favourites and the points got split for too many favorites.... when 2 dogs fight for a bone, while fighting a third dog runs away with that bone 🐕‍🦺🦮....🦴🐕......

No idea were you're getting at, as for work we have lived in many different country's, belgian society is as far that we expirienced as open as France, Holland, Germany and the scandinavian country's 2 country in the world who made gay marriage en adoption possible for gay couples or singles, as everywere the last 10 to 15 years we do see conservatism and gay bashing poping up all around the world and without picking on any idividuals, a lot is done by people with either arab or easter european backgrounds, I feel very sorry must you or your friends have encountered the oposit or been discriminated because of this matter......

Also watch the other 6 Belgian artists who participated in the pre Eurovision contest. Lyrically there are several better songs than Gustav. Musically and vocally I think there are better contestants too. Too bad The Starlings needed just 2 more points!
