The age old dilemma of using a professional page builder and then handing it off to clients of varying skill levels, all of whom eager to build new pages!
Check out Gutenbricks (gutenbricks.com)
If you are ever wanting to turn over client sites and let them add branded blocks, this might be a good solution for you. Create reusable blocks in clients to use directly in posts and pages based on your Bricks designs. Gutenberg blocks directly from Bricks. Gutenbricks.

Author of the plugin here. Thank you Brendan for the detailed walk-through!! Super informative. Using conditional has one drawback, which is that you can't retain the content when you switch to another condition. I'm working on something to retain the data while you switch around conditionals!!

hey Ryan thanks for stopping by. good work to your team so far. looking forward to see what you guys cook up. i'd assume using conditions to say, add a feature section with 3 col grid vs 4, might be the old way of doing it, and i'm standing by for some sort of clonable/repeater type functionality for deleting content from the template while in gutenberg, for e.g.

This was done very well. I would like to explore the posibilities of building a dynamic landingpage in Bricks and also making it editable and customizable for the client in Gutenberg. This has definately giving me alot of ideas

thanks for your kind words, Eduware. definitely takes client editing to the next level! you can of course save entire page as templates, or do a more modular approach section-by-section (which is what i'll do - I think, but need to poll more clients first)

@@BrendanOConnellWP I have a client where this would be perfect as they are a marketing agency and like to build landingpages. By providing ready made sections they can go all out.

Good stuff - just to say that if you set the location for your field group to 'Post' (rather than Post type), you can attach your fields to a particular template or templates (your GutenBricks ones) rather than ALL Bricks templates - you probably wouldn't want those fields appearing on your regular Bricks templates like header, footer, single, archive etc. (at least you can in ACF, presume it is the same for MB). You can get very granular with it - different fields for each GutenBricks template if you need.

Thanks for the info! i thought that too (and i think it worked that way a few RC releases ago?), but then i didn't get anything to render when i had post/pages selected as location. i probably didn't do it thoroughly enough. will try that again as you raise a good point!

This looks so cool - be able to use bricks layouts like that - especially frames layout! - this should be in native bricks

totally! lots of options. love that its both rigid and flexible for both clients and devs. thx for watching.

Oxygen had something like it, but nothing as good. It’s very promising and great for clients.

@@BrendanOConnellWPstill playing around as it’s still a RC. Although, it would have been great for my last project.

always a case of "if only i had this a week ago!" 😉. also very much looking forward to Bricks' implementation of components and how/if they'll work with gutenberg or if that's later

good ask! that would be a better test being more complex! i'll see what i come up with :)

only got a chance to briefly try it, but a few frames sliders did not render in the builder, but did on front end. i suspect this will be improved over the coming week(s)

Thanks for giving it a quick test run. Those component's are essential to any build. I see Advanced Themer rolling out Strict Editor too.

@@michaelvandintheragreed. i know Ryan had a tab working in one of the videos i saw, so i know its possible or will be. I saw that AT editor update, which is nice. I am also particularly looking forward to Bricks' components and how those will be available to clients

Would this also work by creating a class for each field with the dynamic values and then simply applying the classes on future blocks?
@jdy98p
@jdy98p 6 ай бұрын
Just a note that creating a class to apply each flavor of settings works *great*. You'll still need to set conditions for each layout option, though.
@BrendanOConnellWP
@BrendanOConnellWP 6 ай бұрын
yes i think that would work fine. also, Ryan, creator of Gutenbricks, recently released a short video showcasing a "Class Injector" as well, so i think this will be covered from multiple angles

Hello, nice work. You have a content with a text writting on 2 columns ! How it is possible ?
@BrendanOConnellWP
@BrendanOConnellWP 6 ай бұрын
i used a layout from Frames, very handy for letting clients use something like 2 col content! The link to the frame is here: bricks.getframes.io/template/content-section-golf/ it uses css columns. not available in the Bricks builder UI (unless you use advanced themer!). CSS is this your-text{ column-count: 2; column-width: 30ch; column-gap: var(--grid-gap); }
