When Netflix first came out there was a bunch of "meh" stuff you might kinda wanna watch but you were sure there must be something better. Now you can look for 30 mins and every choice is horrible and the next worse

I moved into an apartment following my marital Separation. I called up that the cable company and ask them for the cheapest thing they had you know with basic news and weather. The lady said "How does $3 a month sound for 13 channels?" " That's perfect I'll take it!" That was in July 1999 folks --- not that long ago!

It's really mind-boggling to me I guess because I have not been following the brainwashing of the American people over the past 40 years. I was busy serving my fellow Countryman in the United States Marine Corps since 1976. My eyes began to open when GW created the Department of Homeland Security. I cringed and knew this was going to be a really bad move against Liberty. shortly after I retired in 1997 an elderly lady a friend quipped Bill Clinton was a communist. Again I was dumbfounded because she was old and there was no computer in her house. I had no idea how she came to that conclusion. I mean this was a lady that helped her father build a log cabin during the Depression in the 1930s. But she went on to become educated and was a high school teacher. That's when I started digging into politics. Sometimes I wish I never had!!

Travis Allred if you like the Last Kingdom then you might also like The Witcher. I thought at first I was gonna hate it but it's actually surprisingly good. If you like sword action and a decent story then in that way it's similar to the Last Kingdom.

I tried that show “The handmaidens tale”. I don’t even know if I got that title right. It was disturbing and awful, I couldn’t even finish the first episode. Then they started with the “this could happen under Trump” and I realized it was even more ridiculous than I’d first thought.

It is great, I don't lie about watching television since I got rid of my television 2005. I like the internet where I can watch things from my era, like Hopalong Cassidy, M-Squad, the Outer Limits and more. This were I can choose what, I want to see and forget the rest. One thing about being old for most people you get to a point were you just want to be confortable and really don't care about being trendy and the most noticed in a crowd. I think that is the best thing about being old.

I felt the same boat you had experienced. I dumped my television eight years ago. I enjoyed watching my DVD collection of classic 1960s TV shows and old films. I never watch today's films and TV shows. Marxist-running Hollywood media had gone to WOKE, identity politics, SJW and anti-white racism that become unrealistic and unfit for the social tangibility. 😢

I don't know which side is "the other" for you, but both are rather dire; when I was a boy we had B&W television with just one and then two channels, broadcasts started at around 3:45 p.m. which gave some time for homework and ended at around 11:00, the day ended with the national anthem being broadcast and we stood in the living room in silence. Television was a communal event, with just the one set, there was a family discussion as to what would be watched and those experiences were then shared at school, it was part of the social "glue". That was about the time that Holywood had its "one foot on the floor" bedroom scene mandate, today it's more like both feet on the ceiling and prime time shows like Big Brother House (glimpsed reluctantly) virtually have live intercourse, I remember the discussions rejecting the notion of the "slippery slide" and the comunoliberals won of course. All of that is, unfortunately, not an accident but part of the plan of destruction of the denocratic, free, western state, demoralisation, debasement, being merely tools that render people to accept what we are having rammed down our throats daily right now staring Covid-19 in "The Greatest Heist in History - the pandemic of induced fear and state control" - a twenty first century "Big Lie" which makes the critical big lie of the suposed events latter part of WWII in Europe obviouly the criminal "hollow hoax "that it always was.

I’ll never understand this. I just had someone ask me if I watched Yellowstone and I said yeah. When I started talking about a storyline they had zero idea what I was talking about they just nodded and kept saying “uh yeah I love it. It’s so good right?” Happened with Walking Dead a few years ago too lol. People are weird. I don’t push shows on anyone. 99% of the time it’s just offered up and they start the conversation.

...I have a ton of those old VCR Disney cartoons, and 2 working machines. One daughter still watches them. Those are some of the best memories of raising kids. I still sing Little Mermaid songs to myself.

OMG Shuck-and-Jive Colbert! Keep it away! I don't watch TV anymore. For the last few years I watched TV at all I watched reruns of Johnny Carson from the 1970s and '80s, and similar shows. I also watched Star Trek from the 60s, as the modern Trek spin-offs bite the bag. Pathetic. Who programs this junk?

I purposely avoided cultural fads and as such I have never seen a single show on that list nor have I ever seen The Sopranos 24 or any of the other iconic as they call them television shows.

Well I am a very discerning critic of most shows but I will tell you without any doubt that the Sopranos is an outstanding show. It is very politically INcorrect and very real. You should give it a try. No politics, no obligatory racial demographic or LGBT role, no virtue signaling nonsense.

Yellowstone is good if you suspend your disbelief. I like how it highlights Midwest culture and how the ranches are being gobbled up by hedge funds and the like. I hope all that land isn't gobbled up and made into urban developments

My girlfriend convince me to watch The Witcher... Then my cousin who has 9 years told me the show is crappy ant the games are better, and he convince us both to watch him play... My girlfriend say that the game was crappy, i had to agree with the kid, the game was better, wich hardly is a great achievement considering how crappy the show is...

"Longmire", "call the midwife", "Frontier", "Turn", are four of the best series on Netflix. There's also one based on building the railroad and the race to get to a specified spot first. I can't find it on Netflix but it's really good!
