I recently started at a retail part time job and have been watching training videos this week. There have been reports that a drug store chain has closed locations in San Francisco due to looting, but in the training this week, I was told to never call the police due to any shoplifting and that I shouldn’t be biased and think anyone might shoplift. Even thinking someone with a big bag might steal things is literally deemed a bias that is “not allowed.” I had thought the police weren’t enforcing laws, but the company won’t even call them for any amount of theft.
