As a fan of both sao and berserk, yeah guts just outclasses kirito completely. Although I do feel kirito could do a little damage (that is if we are taking his game-self in this scenario, IRL he’s a normal kid with some sword motions) because kirito is pretty skilled and knowledgeable in combat, but Guts is far too durable to really take much damage and is also just way more powerful in damage output. Guts also has FAR more experience and has honed his skills for far longer. I’d see this fight a bit like guts first fight with Zodd, but guts would be zodd. Kirito would definitely surprise Guts since kirito is a very knowledgeable and strategic swordsman despite his age and body frame, but ultimately guts still would wipe kirito out as soon as he even gets an iota of serious. Guts just outclasses him completely. Kirito’s hax don’t rly count here since kirito himself can’t even control when they occur or needs energy from others, and even those powers might not work. Guts definitely wrecks kirito BADLY, but still would respect kirito’s knowledge and skills. Guts would also probably see kirito’s potential to. Kirito is very very smart and adapts really well. On a personal level, I think guts and kirito would get along mostly and respect eachother. Both have had their share of heart-ache in completely different aspects of life and I think they could bond over it as well as learn from eachother a bit. Their trauma is very very different, but trauma nonetheless that changed them and their whole lives. Both also have a similar mentality about a sword being their compass and are moreso introverts by nature due to trauma. Both also have a love interest that brings out their softer side. Kirito isn’t the arrogant edgelord most think he is, he’s actually pretty humble and kind. In fact he doesn’t even like the name black swordsman that was given to him, other people just call him that. I think kirito would respect guts immensely if they ever met and guts would respect kirito to. Both have walked many of the same areas of life albeit in different ways and both have things they excel at that the other doesn’t.

Problem with Kil boy over here is that he doesn't _actually_ get isekaied and what he does is largely in a videogame only. This is partly why the Aincrad arc has the most substance. Where's the stake in your apparent 'death game' anime when plently of people could only die in the first arc? If SAO either went full isekai (E.G, players would ACTUALLY be isekaied), stuck with the Aincrad arc only (because then you could have tension unlike most of the other arcs) or SAO was just a slice of life about video games, it's biggest flaw in my eyes could be removed and that's that it takes itself a little too seriously even though the plot that would give tension (players dying for real) was done in the first arc.

I like how Kirito died from a low jab by Guts, which is one of the weakest ( also the fastest ) attack any human can do.

Guts killed several demons in hell with just his sword until it broke then punched and mauled a few others. Guts made a dragon twice as strong and hard as tunsgten. Guts beat a sea god as big as 3 big naval ships. Guts survived lesions that got more than 100 of his bones, a massive blood drain by his own armor and Guts was willing to fight the hand of God without one arm, a broken sword and heavy injuries. Sword Art Online should have had ended on the first season cause Kirito literally died and that meant he should have died by cerebral death, but no cause plot armor.
