In 1990s, I have traveled in this train with delay of 28 hours. 14 hours delay was between Guwahati & Jalpaiguri. Train stood at one station in Bihar for 6 hours. As a teen ager, I enjoyed this journey.

This type Half-rake had once reached Howrah Jn station for Chennai-bound Coromandel SF Express once when travelling sometimes in 2012. The train was delayed by 2hrs 20mins at Howrah itself, however reached Chennai with just 45-50mins delay, as the train could makeup a lot..

at that time there was heavy shortage of coals in Punjab's Thermal Plants and not enough power was generated for the state, that's why Coal carring trains were given priority in those days. You could imagine continously power cuts in north Indian summer heat for 8-9 hours. Anyway I'm binge watching your all vlogs, addicted to them, thanks for doing it, i wish i could travel all those Trains but cannot due to Time and Family.

*Let me give a quick explanation from my knowledge* :- Most of the car sheds in northern ER/NER/NFR have insufficient length to hold more than 15-18 rakes at a time. This results in the breakup of many express trains and keeping them separately nearby (close proximity & in parallel mostly), but sometimes are away from each other. In this situation it seems to be the latter 🙄. P.S. 1. Rakes can also be shunted for maintenance, it's a maybe... 2. Due to low funding/bad maintenance, negligence & little to no updates, this corner of IR is a in a very bad condition. Recent innovation/improvement shows otherwise. 3. I have experienced this exact situation on my journey back on Kanchankanya express in Alipur Duar Junction.
