Folks may not know, but this song is based on a true story: "Trapped in scorching trailer -- 18 die / Immigrants abandoned at Texas truck stop"

B1gHagar I first heard this song on Guy’s 2013 album ‘My Favorite Picture of You’. The incident you describe in your post happened in 2018. More research would tell when and who actually wrote the song. Not trying to be a whiny bitch, just setting it straight. Not much room left ‘round here for alternative facts.

I got arrested in Reynosa in 1974. They charged me with bank robbery and put my pic in the paper, all because of the color of my hat (black). I’ve still got the newspaper clipping.
