A brand new sound, vocal style (although props to Charlie Wilson) and producer in Teddy Riley (and Gene Griffen) This moment was the equivalent of what Timbaland and Missy Elliott achieved in bringing a new fresh sound, but in the late 80's. Everything changed after this and I know Teddy was on Keith Sweat's Make it Last Forever which was one of the first albums I ever bought, but this album and then the debut set from Motown group Today really set a new path for R&B.
