I worked in shelters for over 10+ years and I will never forget one day - a woman came in and said she was only there for the oldest dog we had...I took her to this senior dog, don't know what she was but she was tall. (so was the woman). She was sure she was what she was looking for and I was a little confused. The old timers never got picked...she told me that the whole point of adoption for her is to make sure that a dog has a warm home and family to pass away among. I was stunned...gladly, the woman went out the door with hat ol' girl by her side. I thought of that woman as angelic ever since.

A good friend of mine had 4 dogs and 3 of them passed away from old age and him and his wife wanted to get another dog or two. So they were checking around and they found that there's dogs that need to be fosterd and the older dogs that may have health problems that need doctord while they have them take care of them. But the veterinary bills are taken care of by the rescue or whoever has the dogs that need to the dogs to be fosterd. So the friend of mine went and picked up acouple of older dogs that need to be in a good home where they can be treated with medication or whatever they need to do for the dogs. My friend and his wife have spoiled the two that they are fostering and they sleep in the same beds as their human parents do 👍

@@acahill4031Honestly, I wouldn’t mind adopting another dog at some point, but my family is still grieving the loss of our furbaby. He died from cancer last month. It has been really hard. I cried again a couple hours ago actually. Also, we don’t have the space for a big dog. I don’t think it would be fair for bigger dogs to be cramped up in an apartment, especially if they get the zoomies like my baby did🙏🏾😕

I went to adopt a cat several years ago, I picked the oldest one she was 16 at the time. I remember the woman there was kind of shocked but happy I didn’t pick a kitten. I didn’t go there knowing I was gonna adopt a senior and I’ve never actually done that before but God led me to her. I had her for 3 years after that. She had the best life❤. I miss her so much.
