You’ll often see a bigger wave catch the lineup out of position at Uluwatu, but the guy at the start of this video was out there, ready and waiting for the best wave of the day - surfed it beautifully as well.
There were plenty of overhead sets and lots of good waves during this session a few days ago and with a relentless offshore wind blowing the conditions were good the whole time.

Uluwatu never ceases to impress me as the wave gives you always yourself some space and time to catch regardless of the size of the wave.

Quality vs Quantity mentality. Stay with the pack and catch waves when it's your turn. (more waves but also more people) or Sit a bit further out and wait for the bigger sets out their and guarantee a bigger usually better wave. (less waves but usually better ones and no paddling out to catch them)

❤ I mostly admire his ability to manoeuvre the crowd while still having fun like an old school cause I pride myself in that no matter what your ability that’s a good tool to have in your arsenal control over your board ... my goal in surfing is to have fun and stay safe and show off and have your friends another show off for a good surf session let the other guy be a dick ... surfing Malibu in a few weeks old boy you’ve heard of bumping uglies will be a bump on rails ... if you love Kauai... send your friends to MAUI but God bless all those I’m MAUI who lost everything including my uncle shaloha

For the life of me, I don't understand how ppl avoid getting hit in the face with a board! How the surfers avoid AND how ppl in the path of the surfer avoid. Seems like an accident waiting to happen in such close proximity. 🤔
