There’s 3 other possible explanations: a family member of the same name made the donation (middle initial not included in the public record), Thomas Crooks lost a bet and donated the day Biden got office out of punishment, or that Thomas got scammed/tricked by the PAC to donate as if they are owed money.

FEC filings of that donation do match the address of the home that was raided. But I do feel that the fact that it was made on Joe Biden's Inauguration day is a more important factor. This makes it seem like that was due to a lost bet.
