Where the f*** is Guyana... like you, I had no idea. I couldn't find very much info online when we started planning this trip, but that's kinda what drew me in. In this series, we explore the hidden gems of Guyana, from the pristine rainforests in the north to the red dirt savannahs in the south.
Stay tuned for Episode 2 where we leave Paruima and begin our 4 night trek through the jungle to one of the most remote waterfalls in Guyana.
I never expected to fall in love with this place like I did. It's truly raw and untouched nature like I've never seen before--made possible by the indigenous who are deeply connected to sustainability and preservation of the rainforests they've called home for centuries.
Hope you enjoy 🤟🏼

As a Guyanese this makes me so proud. For far too long we’ve had these “explorers” who come here and film but whitewash everything. The part where you highlighted that it is the way of life for our indigenous people was a breath of fresh air. They often lead these expeditions for foreign filmmakers and vloggers but they are far removed when the final product comes out. It is often portrayed as though these explorers just independently made their way through these jungles.

This is so awesome! Whoever told you about this country as a place to visit, shout out to them. I'm half Guyanese and growing up in America, my father would talk about how the only thing Americans know about Guyana is Jim Jones. Over time I've learned a little more and have begun bonding with that side of my family. They will feel good and proud about seeing this. Thank you.

Absolutely loved seeing this and looking forward to the rest. There's only one thing I would change, the music. As a Guyanese, I know how often Guyana is often mistaken for being in Africa, these beats perpetuate that inaccuracy. Guyana has its own multicultural sound which would be far more fitting.

You were able to capture Guyana in such a beautiful way, as a local who hasn't been able to visit these places, it makes me so proud to be a Guyanese and excited to one day step foot in our country's beautiful jungle and savannahs. Love from Guyana!
