It was all very silly but definitely made the working afternoon pass quicker !! My 1st job after training for 18 months as a Radar engineer in the RAF , was at RAF Locking in 1981. In 1T hangar where Radio 1 would be playing, Steve Wright came on who I'd not heard before. I was instantly hooked. He would go right up close to the microphone and say "C'mon touch your radio and feel the warmth of my sincerity " 💜 I could not believe it when they axed his show in 2022 I cannot listen to Mills instead I listen to my own music collection on Spotify now. Too young to go Steve RIP 💜
