His feelings were true at the beginning, then as he went on he developed more feelings for his best friend but he couldn't accept it and so he decided to declare himself to the girl anyway even if his interest was now low. In fact he doesn't cry because he was rejected but because of the bad things that the girl's friend said to him. Btw I'm happy you liked it❤️
