They probably got more info on the Guyver story and they also put more money into making the suit. A lot of the times when anime, manga, or video games gets turned into a live action US movie, the director don't know jack shit about the story. Examples: Street Fighter Dead Or Alive The Last Air Bender Dragonball Evolution King of Fighters I've watched some of the Live Action anime/manga that Japan made like Attack On Titan and it sucks too. The story was all wrong.
