It never gets old looking at the beautiful body lines on those cars. Even when I was a little kid (b. 1959) and the cars were still new, Ioved the long, straight lines.

Thanks for sharing your struggles! Your videos are saving me a lot of time and second guessing myself. I probably would have fallen into a couple rabbit holes on a couple things already if I hadn't seen how many problems you're having with aftermarket parts. I was considering replacing some borderline parts on my 62 convertible, but will definitely try my best to recondition/salvage my originals.

Is that a one by one steel square tubing? Also, how did you make that tubing adjustable just by welding a bolt on the end? As always great work. looks like it’s coming along just fine.

Yes it's 1x1 but it's thick wall tubing, if you go through the playlist on the 63 it shows the installation.

Those bolts are the same fine thread on the 64 trunk floor pan. Rear mounts. Think it’s gold star brand. Not sure about dynacorn.

How’s the aftermarket door line up with the quarter panel body lines, I have my original doors on my 63 but the driver side is pretty banged up, I’m currently looking for another original door, but if worst comes to worse ima probably get one at classic Ind, just worried about the body lines not matching…

The door doesn't line up well..... I have to narrow the quarter panel body line to match the door....

Love the videos... had a question. Did you not use capture nuts then? Is the body mount not connected to body in those couple areas, just the frame?

to install captured nuts I would have to make a much larger hole to install, bolts/nuts simplify everything x 10.... I may weld a tab onto the nut to aid in removal.

So the body will just sit on top of body mounts? And mount to frame at firewall and rear bumper? I have a 62 and just saw the same issue. No caged nuts. In fact worse because the body is sitting on the frame and no body mounts in sight.

@@stizolac I don't really understand what you're saying.... , the body sits on the mounting bushings in between the frame and the body

I guess what I'm saying is, if the caged nut is welded on the car body floor but was missing. What is the nut you dropped in the cut hole of the floor clamping? Is it just securing both sides of the body mounts to the frame...and then body just sitting on the body mount? Or maybe there was a lower panel in the floor for the nut to clamp body as well.

@@stizolac the captured nut is inside of a bracket or you can call it a reinforcing mount that is welded to the floor pan it's boxed in there is no access to it the captured nut has to be installed before the bracket is attached to the floor pan I access the bracket by drilling the hole in the top of the floor pan now I can just put a nut and bolt or I can put a nut with a tab which is semi captured
