GW2 Results -- Mesmer Portals:
How long do they last? How far can you go? Can you go through keeps? Check out the answers to all these questions in this video where we test Mesmer Portals. At the very least watch the huge jump before the credits as we reveal something particular about portal ranges...
RESULTS Series:
Guild Wars 2 is an exciting game with a lot to offer. Skill descriptions and theory crafting just isn't always enough -- sometimes we need to do some tests and determine exactly how things work. In this video series we'll be exploring the RESULTS of some of these tests.

One time, while doing a jumping puzzle with my mesmer, I plopped my entry portal down and then jumped and fell into lava. I panicked and used my other portal to be able to teleport back. Unfortunately, some other guy used my portal and teleported himself into the lava. He died XD

I always suggest tossing in a small object first before you try random portals.

GJ on that footage Rook. Your video show all the depth and the possibility of the portal mania. I'm pretty sure a good mesmer in a WvWvW could change the odd of some fight with sick portal tricks.

When they first announced the Mesmer I watched the portal video and I decided then I would main a mesmer. Still my favorite skill.

I have hard tested this spell and!!!!!!! Range: 5.000. Duration 60 second (cannot be affected by traits) Opened duration: 10 sec (cant be affected). Maximum uses= 20

what is the ability that allows 1 person to transport 50+ army anywhere they are, without time restrictions?

Gather skill points, hit H, select skills, unlock the skill.

The Mesmer must have somehow gotten inside past the walls/doors. While there are a couple illegal bugs that have hopefully been fixed by the time you read this, what usually happens is a Mesmer has hidden inside a tower or keep, or the doors/walls have just been taken down and one invisible Mesmer runs inside to get the group safely in to a further point during an assault. How's that for a run-on sentence? :)

Make your minimap as high as wide, then zoom in as much as you can - voilà la range of the portal. 5k

did they ever unnerf the portal ability? it got rather overused at some point and they actually did assign it a range to my knowledge, or atleast a 20 man cap on the number of people allowed to use it. but u know when you could with proper portaling move across the whole map an entire army of like 80+ and if you have a mes inside an enemy keep due to them taking it while you were there moving that 80+ right in... well.. loved it XD

tearingblade I'll ask some of the Mostly Harmless guys playing it now on Blackgate. It did make for some fun fights!
