नमस्कार,उ. नत्थू खां साहब 15:57 कड़कबिजली की तान लेने में सिद्धहस्त थे।इनकी मौत का कारण भी वही तान बनी ।इन तीनों भाईयों की गायकी की विशेषता यह रही है कि कार्यक्रम में विशिष्ट गायकों की प्रस्तुति केबाद इनका जब गायन होता तो सबगायकों की गायकी के रंग दिखाने के बाद अपनी गायकी से श्रोताओं को आश्चर्य चकित कर देते थे।कड़कबिजली की तान तथा मुंह बंद गले की तान विशेषता रही है।

why you confine Gavalior Gharana to India only ? In Pakistan also the descendants of Banny khan are carry on the continuity of this Gharana . Real cousin of Banny khan was Miran Baksh Alias Amir having sons Piary khan , Sindhi khan about whom you can find details in Pillars of Hindustani music . Piary khan had two sons ustad umeed Ali khan and ustad ghulam Rasool khan . ustad Ghulam Rasool khan ' s sons Ustad Hameed Ali khan Ustad fateh Ali khan are presently torch bearers of Gavalior Gaiky in pakistan and world around . It is your updating history .

Please explain how a person becomes Ustad or Pundit. Is there any title for female singers?/....from Fiji.

Ustad/Pandit is the expert in Music who may or may not perform, but has in depth knowledge of Gaayan-Waadan, and can perform. Ladies who have achieved this expertise, are called Pandita(पंडिता), such as Pandita Mogubai Kurdikar, Pandita Kishori Amonkar.

@@MrMalayakumarDas89 Not really. What I mean is who gives or confers the title of Ustad or Pandit? Is it the senior members of the gharana? Not anyone can call himself or herself Pundit, Ustad or Pandita.

@@Suprat0555 yes maestro of music,Pandit” and “Ustaad” both are respectable titles given to greatly experienced, and expert musicians of Classical Music. The difference between them is quite simple. A maestro is said to be a Pandit if he is born in a native Indian family, i.e., he is either Hindu or Jain or any of the Indian religions. The term “Ustaad” is given to a maestro who is born in a Islamic/Persian family (Not a native Indian)

Mansingh Tomar was the first Indian king of Gwalior who started the then biggest school for music. This school was destination for many students worldwide, among whom, one was Miya Tansen. Mansingh Tomar is supposed to be the mool purush of Gwalior gharana. His queen Mruganayani was a great singer as well, and both have done tremendous work in Indian classical music. Mansingh Tomar wrote a great book called Maan Kutuhal that gives all info on Dhrupad Gayaki.
