I think this album proves that Gwar is an institution that can endure the loss of key members. If they can keep their music quality high, there's no reason that Gwar can't even outlive this lineup one day.

Phantom Limb is probably the best song on the album, that shit is INTENSE.

I think this is quite the good first album without Oderus. For me, this is a lovely mix of old and new for GWAR. You get that feeling of punk and rock mixed in-between the heavier metal songs. It's that GWAR style that I've always liked. Making what they want to make. Whatever the genre. My only complaint is that the Sordid Soliloquy of Sawborg Destructo falls short of other songs. It feels like another song on the album. A good one, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have the punch that the Techno , Skullheadface, and even Bonesnapper songs brought. I like these songs sung by different characters, but this one sort of fails to stand out from the pack, but it's still a solid entry, and I'm sure will make for a lovely live performance. Otherwise, this album is a blast to listen to. I must've listened to it at least 20 times by now. My personal favorite has to be Death to Dickie Duncan, which sort of accomplishes what the Sawborg song could/should have done (imo) but retains the heavyness of current GWAR while having something of a nice groove to it. Also, good on you Metal Blade for putting the whole album. I preordered the album myself, but it's cool that they can get as much people to listen to it as possible. Maybe even get some a revenue from the pirate crowd.

El Presidente, Swarm, and Crushed by the Cross are the only songs that I need in a day. \m/ "Your life is crushed... by the cross!" \m/

This just might be one of my favorite albums they've ever released. It's fucking fantastic. I nearly got choked up during "Phantom Limb" thinking about Mike's friendship with Dave and how they go all the way back to high school in Richmond,and now how he must take on Dave's duties since he's no longer with us. Killer album. One of their best releases since Scumdogs and Lust In Space. May GWAR continue their barbaric journey on this planet for centuries to come.

I have been a gwarior for over 20 years now. I skipped senior prom to go to my first gwar show in june 1998. walking out the doors of the electric factory that night I cried. I felt as if I had just witnessed the greatest show id ever be able to see. when dave passed again...I cried ,more so than when my own grandmother did. for days I wandered in a fog. 'will GWAR be done?' 'do I want GWAR w/o dave?''what happens to the scum dogs? what about the gwariors? then cory smoot, now mike derks...!?(if you don't know who they are you shouldn't claim to be a fan). however after seeing mike bishop on a "ted talk" (seriously check it out) I felt he was worthy of being daves replacement. and this album while a tit different than most gwar albums is ..... perfect. one more thing DONATE TO MIKE DERKS croudfunding page!!!! best of luck derks. I truly love you all!

I’m so happy there is something different and super fast about this album and honestly I like it just as much as any other GGGggGgwwAar album ... first off the guitar riffs are sharp like a blade and the bass rumbling would make any Motörhead fan wet and vocals over all are crushing and in super time and match what’s been produced over all it’s among one of my favorite albums that’s been released ... now I’ve gone threw some of the comments but here’s the deal first off this isn’t like the new misfits with out glen .. like this album is super justice to gwar as a whole .. unbreakle and unbroken

great album , even after Dave died , they still keep the spark of the hell om this album . Great as fuck ...

So far, 11 people are not getting it. This recording is epic.

They returned with the 90's experimentation sound, there's so many genres in the album, like rock, punk and metal, I guess they peak his heavy sound moment with Battle Maximus. It's a fact that Dave Brockie was the man behind everything related to GWAR, but c'mon, it's a good album, at least better than some of works in their discography. Also, poor Bonesnapper.

I am 46 years old, and I bought tickets to take my 20 year old daughter to see GWAR in ATL. Which was the last place I saw them years ago. But, our babysitter for my 2 younger sons backed out on the day of the show. We were both so freaking bummed. I don't care how old I get, I will take her to see GWAR one of these days!!!! She even bought us t-shirts to get all bloody, then she was gonna draw the band members on them for us. Such a bummer 😢

This album has made me come to a realization. GWAR is bigger than just one man. GWAR is a coalition of primal battle gods that transcend space, time, and even life itself. I'm sure Dave Brockie is in Valhalla swilling mead and the blood of our enemies alongside Odin with this album cranked up in the background!

Man, as a longtime GWAR fan, Phantom Limb is probably the saddest thing I've heard since Nick Cave's Skeleton Tree album. The band's sadness and frustration are on full display, especially in the disarmingly honest interlude: The road is long and the road is hard On a monster in a band But the toll it took was so much more Than we had ever planned The world has never looked so dark The pain has never felt so bad Is it wrong to try to go on When it's all we ever had?

I don’t get why people put some much of GWAR on Dave. Don’t get me wrong, here. But Mike and Brad have been with GWAR for nearly three decades. Mike and Brad have been a driving force since their start. Sure Dave was the most outgoing and the frontman. He handled the spot light without letting any fame going to his head. It was always about the show and music. And still is. Mike in particular has so many writing credits for songs and stage shows. He always choose to behind the Scenes. I just don’t understand why people never give them credit. Dave wasn’t the sole member of GWAR. Sure I deeply miss Dave. I guess I’ve just been a massive fan of GWAR for 30 something years and hate seeing the elder statesmen of GWAR get look over for the equal contributions to band. I hope GWAR never dies in my life time. Countless concerts and more to come. After all you’ll never know who we stuff in that Costume. I truly believe, Dave would most certainly want this. Hail GWAR.

THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM I'VE HEARD IN A WHILE. NO DISRESPECT TO BROCKIE, BUT THIS IS BY FAR GWAR'S BEST WORK. I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS; I'VE LISTENED TO IT EVERYDAY SINCE IT WAS PUBLISHED. I SHOULD PROBABLY BUY IT WHEN I GET THE CHANCE. YES, IT'S SO GOOD THAT I DON'T EVEN WANT TO PIRATE IT.

A bitter sweet album for me, but loved it as I do all things Gwarrrrrrrr! Getting ready to see them for the first time without Oderus here in a couple weeks. Hope I can smile through the tears. Great work guys.
