Hello! Thank you for your videos! can you tell me if this machine has the function of passthrough materials like a glowforge?

Hi. Sorry to be a little offtopic but did you do some special setting to your machine that it frames the piece you are working on? Mine never worked. Not sure where the issue comes from. Thank you

There's a frame button in lightburn. No special settings.

So did you remove the Air Purifier and just vent direct outside? I hooked up the fan that came with the Laser and I can hardly feel and air flow after running all the lines.

Yes I never used the air purifier. It doesn't work anyways as you still smell the fumes. And as you said with the air filter box, It drastically reduces air flow. I'm thinking that gweike only included the air filter box as it was The only place/option to put the air compressor.

getting mine set up right now - my actual biggest issue seems to be the camera not working - how often do you use the camera? mine didn't come with air assist, and I was going to hook up my in shop air to it with a regulator, but wouldn't know where to start - seems like you have a 3d printed adapter for it?

I had my camera set up for a while until I was cleaning My machine and wiped it and knocked it out of alignment for some reason. Haven't set it up since then. I don't really need it as I just use framing. Every gweike comes with air assist. Did you get a used one?

@@GuyWithAGweikeCloud oh - I just don’t have an external pump. Maybe there is a compressor inside the machine? Not sure what framing means yet but appreciate the reply!

@@shoruk if you have the latest machine then its built in. its the round object to the right of the laser head when in home position. you will need to clean it often as the fan recirculates exhaust air into the lens therefore prematurely burns out the lens by clogging it up with debris

are you still using this air compressor do you think its better? im looking at getting one
@GuyWithAGweikeCloud

Yes 100% with cleaner cuts and engraves. But does nothing for cut speed as it is only ~6psi. Link to amazon is in the video description if you want to get it.

how do you like your Gweike Cloud in general? It's pretty obvious that there's a lot of paid videos for this product so it's hard to tell which are real reviews vs fakes. Have you had any issues so far? And how long have you owned the unit?
@GuyWithAGweikeCloud
@GuyWithAGweikeCloud Жыл бұрын
Yes there are alot of paid videos out there and videos where gweike sent them the machine to review which is why i started my channel and why im doing these vids. I wish gweike paid me as i endorse so much for them and have helped so many people with their machines already. But alas, ive made exactly $0 haha and had to take the risk and buy my own machine. Thanks for checking my vids out! Owner since Jan 2022 this year so almost a year now. The newer units are actually better with the updated power supply. Whether this means the updated PSU is driving the tube harder, no one knows. So my generation 1 machine is actually weaker than the current gweikeclouds (including the OMTech Polar clone). I think there have been 3 generations now but Gweike has never advertised their updates instead have just quietly updated their machines and marketed them as the same ole gweikecloud. Best value is still the OMTech 80w. If i had the space for that i would never consider these expensive "desktop" class lasers. These are all topics i have in mind for future vids.

Why would you get a 50 watt laser and not utilize it's power? A diode laser will cut that as fast. I know you are going to tell me because the tube will last longer if you don't run it at higher power. So what?. If you are making money with your machine, the time saved versus the cost of a new laser tube is well worth it. I've know someone who have a 50 watt laser and they use it every day. They do a lot of cutting at wayyyyy over 50% power and their laser is over 4 years old and still going strong.
@GuyWithAGweikeCloud
@GuyWithAGweikeCloud Жыл бұрын
A 50w laser at 50% is still more powerful than say a 40w at 50%. I had a 10w diode laser before this, there is no way that claim is true. Even at 100% that diode would still take at least 2-3 passes on the same material that it takes my CO2 at 50% power to cut in 1 pass. Choice of power to run is up to the user ultimately. I am not making money with my laser so your statement doesn't pertain to me and my case personally. Maybe for others.
