She was way stronger and better in the classic series. Do recall that her shield never broke in the classic everytime she summoned it, no matter how powerful the opponent's impact on the shield was. In this show, she began to doubt herself, because it's normal when we're in our teenage years.

@Conrad Ferrus It's not a nonsense statement as nigh-omniptience is an actual thing in fiction. Nigh simply means near so nigh omnipotence simply means she is nearly omnipotent. She can do almost anything with her powers but not everything. Nigh omnipotent beings in fiction wield almost supreme power but have some form of limitation to their power that prevents true omnipotence. A great example would be Alien X who can do anything but is only nigh omnipotent due to his dual personalities having to agree before taking any form an action.

He never throughly has to struggle with wat ever hes doing he is never at a disadvantage .he always wins and states hes never uses his full power despite how powerful the badguy is he is always able to one shot a character. Eg crushing fates helmet in injustice which was suppose to be impossible since it mabe by the power of a god billions of years old. Ben is alot like superman cause he is egostical. Always gets his way. A disguise form. Her grandma wants to destroy her body and free her anodite inside. Once she frees it, it would be like her grandma being free spirited. U think it's weak because sometimes the objects or beam that make contact with the shield is a lot stronger than the amount of mana gwen has, but sometimes there are things that can't break through her shield (the ball of goo from the DNA aliens mouth, Dark Star's absorbing ray, Manny and Helen's guns). Another reason why her shield is breakable is her mana power is somewhat Sealed inside her body vessel, original form of an Anodite can generate shields that literally almost nothing can break through like grandma Verdona or Gwen's cousin - Sunny, although in Ledgerdomain Gwen is able to manifest a crazy amount of mana out because she was inside the source of all magic, in there the rock monsters have a hard time flinching her. If Gwen can control her inside Anodite she can be litterally one of the most powerful being in her world (said Dagon) and I'm talking about the Alien Force and Ultimate Alien version not the shitty Omniverse becauss fuck Omniverse. So u know notthing pal

Cupcake Killer I think it was because of the vibe. When I compare this version of Ben 10 to the others a get a more mature vibe, which I find night being the most appropriate time to suit this series. Also I feel like when this came out a lot of the kids who watched to earlier versions were starting to mature and go through puberty so of course the writers wanted to have the show grow with them to fit the themes of their current life.

Reading this... it does make me thing. I wonder if it's because in Alien Force is when Ben's identity was not revealed, and he mostly fought aliens at night because that's when he could do it under the cover of night and avoid getting caught. When in Ultimate Alien, his identity was revealed, so there was no reason to publicly fight aliens with Kevin and Gwen. But then again, the original Ben 10 when they were kids... it happened in the day...

However, in some occasions they have "the spark" like gwen did (meaning she became an anodite) in other words it can only be either human or anodite. Ben is completely human and gwen in an anodite.
