I have the Dapol O gauge pannier and absolutely love it! It came from Hattons all the way here to the US.

The Llangollen Railway has two Pannier Tank Engines in its fleet. They are Push-pull fitted 6430 and 57xx 7754. 7754 is still under restoration. 6430 is working well, but she takes quite a time to quench her thirst. Due to something inside her tanks that won't budge, the Driver has to fill first one tank and then the other. I love this cute little matchbox on wheels very much. I have 6407 in my model engine collection, but she might not be around on my railway for much longer. If all goes well further down the line, the Saddle Tank Engine, no. 1361 in Photographic Grey livery, will replace her. I bought the Saddle Tank Engine from ebay, and she works better than the first one I had. Going back to the Pannier Tank Engines, correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure one of the 57xx class was the inspiration for Duck the Great Western Engine in Thomas & Friends.

@@HattonsModelRailwaysIn fact, Duck the Great Western Railway 57OO class pannier tank engine himself wore the well-known number of 5741 in the officially well-knowingly obviously famous Railway Series books written by the famously well-known Rev W Awdry himself alongside his own son named Christopher the officially well-known #8 during the official TV show based on the well-known Railway Series books written by the Rev W Awdry alongside Christopher Awdry themselves! By the way, actually, a total of precisely 16 members of the well-known Great Western Railway 57OO class pannier tank engines were preserved!

I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Thomas and Friends, i.e. Duck. I personally have a Hornby Railways version from the 1970's No. 8751, which would be and 8750 Class although listed as 57xx and also a new Bachmann 8750, No. 3738 as per the picture taken at Didcot in it's current Wartime Black Livery. Along with these I have one of it's predecessors a Dean 2721 Pannier Tank, which were rebuilt from Saddle Tanks, like most of the GWR Saddle Tanks as Dave alluded to.

It sounds like you've got a great collection of Pannier Tanks there, Andrew. The older 2721 Class really shows the development of the models and real locos, so they're ideal to run together. Thanks for watching.
