I loved Ron Perlman’s version of Slade/Deathstroke. His characterization, voice and general aura were just perfect. I love that they brought him back to play Slade once again in The Flashpoint Paradox.

I'm 41 and I've been a fan of Superman since I was a child. And he gets nerfed in every Era. His power,speed,and intelligence gets watered down more and more depending on the writer. They want to make him look as if he really needs teammates or as if these weak ass villains actually have a chance against him. The new generation of Superman fans gets to see the man of steel in his weakest and dumbest incarnations. Normally the argument goes "well original superman was able to tow planets, or other X feat that makes him invincible" No. Even though that's old to us now, that's not original superman, that's him after he'd Been power crept to hell, and back. The original issues of superman couldn't even fly, and his strength, speed, and endurance were far more modest than even in this show. The "faster than a speeding bullet, More powerful than a locomotive, Can leap tall buildings in a single bound " Wasn't just a catchy introduction it was a way to give the initial audiences a way to Guage what kind of feats he was capable of. So you picking the superman that can tow planets, or do whatever else isn't you wanting the "original, non-nerfed" version. It's you arbitrarily picking the version you like the most, abd being mad this isn't it. Don't get me wrong some characters get undeserved huge nerfs that really make the whole point of the character suffer. This is not one of those. Superman is still by far the strongest character on screen, he's just not untouchable is all. Which is the best way to write superman, because it doesn't relegate the rest of the characters, and world around him to irrelevance compared to whatever his current crisis/enemy is.

And for a good reason. Making a character too OP makes it harder to make the character interesting. I’m tired of OP characters and how effortlessly they do stuffs.

It doesn’t matter Superman is supposed to be invulnerable to most forms of damage characters like death stroke wouldn’t be able to do anything to him or invincible. The only things that can hurt Superman is 1. Magic 2. Other super powered or godly beings on his level and 3. Kryptonite that’s it. If you’re so much of a crappy writer to where you need to start stripping away what makes a character who they are then you shouldn’t be writing.

This is year one Superman and that's not how supes has ever worked, brawls like these happen all the time in superman stories.

@@jonp9654 Except he never goes toe to toe with Supes' strength. They don't need to emphasize the strength. He is clearly not as strong as Supes. If you watch the fight, Slade uses the giant robots to do the heavy lifting, and then uses speed and acrobatics to flank Supes and attack him when he is vulnerable. The minute that supes stops holding back, he launches Slade like a sack of potatoes with a single punch.

@jonp9654 I never said he was faster. I said he used speed and agility to flank Supes while the big robots had his attention. Every time Supes started fighting back, he would have to break off and let the robots step in. And he clearly can hurt and touch Superman... he does it in the show. They clearly show that his Swords are able to hurt Supes and that the suit allows him to contend with Supes. Well, so long as Supes is holding back and also fighting giant robots lol.
