So the new JBL Partybox 710 is just an insanely over kill speaker. However, this thing sounds great, its bass produces earthquakes and it has a really cool looking light feature. But today we’re going to see how the Partybox 110 and 310 stacks up to the 710. Now personally I absolutely love the 110 and I think the 310 is a much more sensible investment over the 710. But if you absolutely need to know how this family stacks up to one another… then keep watching.

I bought two 710s. With the bass boost on level 1, I can only turn the volume up at 25 percent without the house rattling too much. I love it. The bass is better than I thought it would be.

How big of a house? I had it at 30 percentage and heard some rattling I've never heard before on bass boost 1. 310 never did this.

The school I go to got donated the 710, we use it in doors. Because I'm on the sound tech we get to set it up and we all have fun setting it up. We use it indoors, I agree with him it is a bit overkill but when we have a assembly it's needed, we don't really turn it up much because it's so good!

Hey @gymcaddy I am looking for a portable speaker that (1) provides deep/good bass outdoors but (2) can be kept at high volumes when used outdoors. Adequate battery life is also necessary because I plan on mainly using this speaker at sporting events (i.e., football practice and/or camps). Would you happen to have any recommendations? I tried the JBL Boombox 3, and while it is a good portable speaker, it could not handle the task I set for it with volume and bass. Even when maxed out on volume, I felt it needed to be louder.

I have the 110 and the 310. I am thinking about the 710. The 110 sounds great and it's the one for me that set this whole partybox thing off for me. I like to use it for small gatherings of 10 people or so. We like the music loud at a dancing level. So for me the 310 comes into play when I have a bbq, pool party, tailgate, etc. Still it's just what we need but we have to crank it to almost max level. I think that I would enjoy the extra headroom. But right about now it probably makes more sense to sell the 110 and get a 2nd 310. I don't get this talk about overkill or the cops coming. Nope these boxes are not really that loud unless you are in an apartment or dorm where you shouldn't be trying to go loud anyway ..

Great review I recently bought the JBL 310 for the portability, I use it in my car, garden and living room, I have a question please, why when I put it in my car, why can I not connect it to my headset in the car using bluetooth and play music from the cars head unit to the 310, I am confused as they both have blue tooth, so I use my phone in the car to play the music through it instead.

Nice video! Here is a question for you - The Partybox 310 has selectable inputs, AUX, BT and USB, the 710 does not (also both speakers have the selectable mic/ guitar line inputs and both have the passthru line inputs) - how do you select the inputs for the 710? I understand that the 310 and 710 can use the independent 1/4" jacks at the same time and mix them. How do you use the 710 if you want to use the AUX input from maybe a PC, another audio source via the link port jack and also then use another input via BT? Are they all compatible at the same time?

@@romeoraduu A single one is more than enough so it's not really worth it. Since 1 already has the bass and loudness to fill a giant room or fill the outdoors (yes, even in the bass), getting 2 would really only be for left-right stereo. If you're an audiophile and willing to pay for a whole 1000 more, sure, go for it, but not worth it for any typical user, in my opinion. I really only got two since I was lucky to get one at 20% and the other 25% off, and the stereo was really nice. But I would definitely say it's worth it for the audio experience, but not for price to performance, especially since 1 already costs a lot.

@@jim8643 If you're thinking "audiophile speaker" as in requiring the absolute most flat frequency response possible then no, it isn't but audiophile speakers don't have to get to that point of precision at all. This speaker is more than precise enough to satisfy every typical audiophile's ear. You're very much wrong if an "audiophile" requires the flattest of curves. I can give you the clasical Sennheiser HD 600 example. :)

Same here, it’s Nov. 23rd and have looked everywhere for the past two weeks. No please has it: be it in-store pickup or on-line delivery. I opted for the next best thing 710 series. Hope I will not be disappointed

I wonder if the 710 does what the 1000 does when you go up really high with the volume and that it lowers the bass and ups the highs and mids and throws the whole balance of sound out of wack?

It does the same thing. Around over 60% of volume, bass will start rolling off.

Depends on what your purpose the 710 has higher wattages and is just so powerful with the bass. The speakers are not on the same platform in terms of power so if you want more base go with the 710 but if you need something with flexibility to go outdoors that has a battery the 310 is perfect.

basiclly the 310 is the midelground between sound and cost considering the other ones ( they all sound close to the same but the 310 is a little louder then 110 and have better bass then 110. have worse sound then 710 but 710 is overkill for most sinaros not to mention that the 310 is the most protable then the 710 and the 110. they all have similer sound but you can hear that they arent the same speaker) :D

The 710 is a good home speaker or if u are going to a big party u can bring it. When I go out places i take the 110 with me or my soundboks 3. But i still love the 310

i bought the jbl 110 a couple months ago. and it’s worked perfect. but recently it won’t keep connection. it’ll connect to my phone for a couple seconds and just disconnect and i won’t be able to connect again until i reset my phone. any advice?

Great comparison. I am between the 310 and the 710. 80% of the time for movies. However, we have a large room in our house (about 20 feet by 30 feet). Ever year we throw a Christmas party for about 30 people. The people absorbe all of the sound and my current speakers are just not loud enough. I don't care about battery at all although portablity is often important. Will the 310 be enough for the volume side of things or should I go 710?

310 for 30 people is perhaps the limit. I would go for the 710 if you want extra head room. I had the same situation just last week, I felt the 310 was struggling, so I brought in the 110 to help out.
