H+H Cologne - Our visit to the Trade Fair for Creative Handicraft - ARNE & CARLOS

Just before our Easter break we visited the H+H Cologne - Trade Fair for Creative Handicraft. It is the place where you can meet all the brands, soak up a lot of inspiration and catch up on the coming trends. We had an amazing time!
One of the best things about visiting the H+H is to catch up with old friends and colleagues. We were so fortunate to meet the amazing crochet artist Molla Mills and have a chat. At the yarn bombing exhibition at the H+H Cologne we bumped into Fabio and Mattia from 48filimatty and had a lovely chat about their work. You can find them on both instagram and Facebook under the tag: 48filimatty
Another great surprise was to finally get to meet Andrea and her lovely daughter Madeleine from @FruityKnitting .

BIGS THANKS to you for sharing your tour of this beautiful exhibition. The music at the beginning of the video is great. The big piece of art behind you is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for the insider tour of the trade fair! Molla Mills work is enchanting and has a tribute to Mary Quant about it (recently RIP). When I saw your designs outside of the Rowan display, I wanted to yell go back! Let’s see more! What’s quirky about trends is that it takes one costume designer to select a style of sweater, hat, etc and feature it on film or streaming and ka-boom, everybody wants one! Thanks again.

This was so interesting and entertaining! I especially loved the knitted fairy wrens and the penguins but you didn’t mention the artists who made them. We sometimes have little wrens in our garden and since we live on Phillip Island, penguins are very dear to us. Thanks for taking us with you to Cologne ❤

It was very interesting for me, that the finnish people say "moi", because in the north of Germany we say "Moin" instead of hello! But don't say "Moin moin" , because we are taciturn here and people who say "moin moin" talk way to much! 😉

It was great to see how versatile crochet can be. Wow, the macrame! I used to do that when I was a teenager in the 1970s. I made plant hangers and wall hangings. I wish I could remember how to do it. 😂
