40年前の木村正彦の改作は天地逆と言われるほど奇抜であったが美的感覚はそれ以上にあった。だから奇抜さを感じさせずこういうのも自然界には存在するかもしれないという気持ちを起こさせる。今はより自然に見えるのだがだれもそのようにはできない。

I mean, plants most likely don't experience pain as it would not have any evolutionary benefit for them. Also, even if they did, I expect you wouldn't be saying the same thing to someone who prunes their bushes or mows their lawn.

@@literallyslayingsohard Nahh... i was kidding, as i put the peace sign at the end of my sentence. I'm aware that he was trying to create a better form for the tree, or at least for his imaginative idea inside his brain. And for pruning bushes and mowing the lawn, it's actually another different thing. Because by cleaning up the path that was covered by the wild grass, they keep the area clear and tidy. So it has nothing to do with making an art out of this bonsai. Ok have a good day

If the tree was a person, he would definitely say, You are torturing him. But, being that a tree instead, doesn't make it wrong. It looks like to make them grow your way, which are fine art pieces no doubt, you kinda torture them.
