Not quite true but I get the point. We all laughed at Weghorst at the end but truthfully we only ever made a handful of chances for him. Until we have a team that has players and structure to keep hold of the ball and can work in tight spaces, we are going to keep getting Fernandes and Casemiro trying the low percentage passes a lot because Rashford and Garnacho thrive on it. Garnacho at least is linking up better off the right and he will develop- so I'm not majorly worried about him.

Shaw intended to pass to him but other than that you are spot on. Casemiro made a desperate tackle on the ball that fell to him, Garnacho miscued a shot and Maguire glanced a header.

And ? So don't watch it if it bothers you. Or...find out why he is doing it. Ste said that if they post them as an hour or more people get bored and turn off. A lot of the YT credits are given when the whole video is watched, which is why Ste's videos are ten minutes or so. If he posted it as one video and people turned it off ten minutes from the end he doesn't get paid anything like as much. If you have a problem with that then go and watch Goldbridge's hour long snooze fests.

We don't control games primarily because Bruno 99 times out of 100 goes for the higher risk pass. Sometimes he just needs to play to the game situation. Against Luton, with 1 1/2 minutes left in stoppage time at the end of the game, He played a short corner to Amrabat, got the ball back and proceded to take a shot. That eventually led to a corner for Luton that Barkley got a head to and put just off the crossbar. Instead of taking the shot, if Bruno keeps the ball in the corner, we probably kill the game right there.

The Jose Mourinho interview was a mess. I was keen but it was so chopped up that I thought after only a few clips “just tell me when the full interview is out” but it still wasn’t when I tried wading through the chops yesterday trying to find it a week later. I’m not sure I’ll bother now. As for chopping up the main show the way you are, read the room! As someone who’s worked in marketing for a long time, I’d advise against getting too giddy about the raw ‘engagement’ data. Of course it’s higher when you chop like that. But are you also measuring the impact on the ‘Five’ brand from irritating so many of the core audience that got you to this stage. A lot of people are clearly annoyed, and that’s not a sensible strategy longer term.
