WagakkiBand, formed by eight talented musicians who had been active as professionals in their respective fields. Their cover of "Senbonzakura," which has been viewed more than 100 million times, made their one-of-a-kind band style and presence known to the world. Eight years after their formation, the road to date has not been smooth. The frustration of not being able to get the visuals and their images to where they want them to be delivered, and the fear of change. However, they don't pretend that their past doesn’t exist, but rather look forward and never stop moving forward. They have overcome adversity and hardship so many times that they know they have the strength to never give up.

Think the song is about the fight against Covid 19 but can also include other aspects of things people are dealing with. Fantastic song! Love it!

Thank you, Detrucci, for your reaction to this song. Watching you react to WB songs and how excited you are makes me smile. I love the call-response style of this song in Japanese and English, and how the shamisen is driving this melody (Everybody loves Beni - WB shamisen player). The female lead vocalist for WB is Yuko Suzuhana, who also conceived and assembled the band, and writes most of the ballads, but all of the band mambers contribute to song composition and arrangement. The song was inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, and is a song designed to inspire people to stay strong, and remind them that the pandemic will end and people will be able to move freely and be with their friends and loved ones again, hence the images for hospitals, and how the western character (yellow hair) and the Asian character (maybe representing Amy and Yuko) are separated, then are reunited at the end. In animation, Japanese artists usually depict westerners as having yellow hair, so the yellow-haired character probably represents western people or Amy Lee in particular. 'Sakura' is Japanese for cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms are symbolic of spring, renewal and the fleeting nature of life in Japanese culture, so 'Sakura Rising' is probably symbolic of emerging from the tradegy of the pandemic and beginning a new cycle of life, or moving forward after renewal. To see some more variety of WB styles, you should check out my favourite song of theirs, 'Ignite', which is almost punk rock, with staccato rap from Yuko and Machiya (lead guitar & most male vocals), and Yuko's warbling vibrato in the chorus; and 'Synchronicity', which is a jazz / swing duet from Yuko and Machiya. They made the song during the pandemic, so there is influence. Yuko Suzuhana is the name of the vocalist. As for the old and current thing, a different way of looking at it could be, you can start exploring a band chronologically seeing their evolution this way. But either way is not wrong.

Yes, you right, this collaboration is really great, great song and Amy and Yuko sounds amazing together. I would love to hear collaboration of my favourite japanese band The Gazette with Tarja Turunen, this would be something incredible, but this is just a dream that will never come true. ;)

Waggaki Band...they arent just musician but they are Gods and Goddess and engineers of their own musical instruments... For a different far east offering, I'll give you The Let's Go's. They are three women from Tokyo who play fun, fast-paced, very energetic punk - hints of The Ramones with their classic 70s punk style. Omg that's why the characters are drawn in different styles. I deduced they were different animators but I didn't know it was an international colaboration as well.
