for all those non odia listener , The song is written by One of the greatest Muslim devote bhakta Salbega, nearly 400 years ago. Even currently odia speking people will not understand 100% the language used here being so old. Once during Rath Yatra lord Jagganath's Rath has to wait at one place for Bhakta Salbega , till he arrived from his return from vrindavan. This song is utmost expression of bhakti .

I am from Maharashtra. First time in life I visited Puri in April 2022 and I fell in love with Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu, Kalinga style temples and Odiya food. One day after coming back, I came across this song and I was deeply touched by the voice and Bhakti in this song. So I searched for the lyrics and got it translated. I was blown by the life story of the mediaeval saint from Odisha, named Bhakt Saalbeg, who composed this devotional poem on Mahaprabhu. Saalbeg was Muslim by birth and yet he dedicated his entire life for the Bhakti of Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu. His entire life story is as unique as his devotional poems on Sri Krishna. Being Maharashtrian, I am always keen to know about the Saint tradition of Bhakti movement of every Hindu land, as Maharashtra is blessed by great saint tradition like Dnyaneshwar, Namdev, Eknath, Tukaram. Saint Saalbeg and his mother Lalita who later sacrificed her life and became Fatima to save SriMandir of Jagannath at Puri from destruction at hands of a fanatic Muslim invader - both are heroic and epitome of sacrifices for protecting Dharma.
