There is no law or convention that prohibits one from buying or building a house or staying in a house near a high tension electricity cable. The only thing is you stand a higher risk of being affected in the event there is any major accident from these high tension cables. There are many instances in Ghana where high tension cables were struck by thunder and lightening and the consequences were so devastating on residence around these high tension cables. In conclusion, yes you can buy or stay in a house near a high tension cable, but remember that the consequences are daring.
