hello, I have a question. So i had my interview for my IR1 visa in Cuidad Juarez Mexico on march 12th 2020. I was given the 221g notice because the taxes i had in hand were not in my ceac online system. I sent documents and they asked me to send my passport as well. I still have not had any response. Do you know how long it will take for my visa to be issued ? The consular officer told me 2 to 3 weeks but its been about a month already

My I-601 was approved back on 12/31 and I had an interview scheduled in Brazil for 04/06 that was canceled last minute. Thank God I did not took my flight there. The US Embassy is closed and we have no idea when the interview is going to be reschedule. Should I do something about it or just wait? Could I at least request for at an work authorization before the interview. Right now it would be great to get help from unemployment.

My husband and I applied for his I485 in April 2020, since he’s always been here legally through the TPS they used his old biometrics. Now it’s showing online that biometrics were applied. I feel like they are moving pretty quickly. We haven’t gotten a response for his work permit and his expired already but it also shows biometrics were applied on July 17. I’m wondering if our appointment would be waived since we’ve been married for 11 years and have 2 daughters together, it would definitely cut the time. One can only wish! 11 years ago I applied for my mom and from the date we sent the application she had the permanent residency card in 3 months! If only it was 2009.

Hi Jacob! I filed the I-485 in July of 2019. Last week I received the I-693( Medical Examination) courtesy notice in the mail. During this whole pandemic, what would you best advise to do. Get the Medical examination done and then mail results to USCIS or get the Medical examination done and wait till interview notice comes in mail to present at actual interview? Thank you!

It looks like flights from Europe to US may not be available by that date due to Corona virus pandemic regulations. We only got a Courtesy Letter to Applicant on 2/15 and that's it. We never heard back from them. My mom is 81 years old and we can't purchase a health insurance. It has been very stressful for all of us having her without health insurance because she doesn't have a legal status yet. I understand USCIS stopped all operations due COVID-19. Do you think we still have to wait much longer to get her green card? We started the petition in 9/2019.

You cannot adjust your status solely based on being selected in DV lottery. If you illegaly in US you will be barred from reentering - that question is specified in I-485

We had the same thing. I’m eb2 and our field office is Santa Ana. Our interview was scheduled for 04/14 but was canceled 2 weeks beforehand. On 04/16 my i485j was approved and I was issued with RFE for i693. I received thei693 RFE in the mail on 04/24, mailed the medicals on 04/25, and uscis confirmed they received them on 04/27... and now we wait!!!

Victoria Brewood no nothing yet. My field office is Santa Ana, haven’t heard anything since 04/27 when they confirmed receiving our RFE. I have seen very little from Santa Ana field office from other people too.

I am employed currently under the J1 visa, and got issues with my job designation to be not falling under the International Broadcaster and got my first I-360 case denied after an RFE by USCIS... my company thankfully reapplied my case with a new job designation/title that better suits the category, and after 186 days of waiting today I got another RFE! Does this mean a bad outcome is about to happen similar to that of the first case?

for the moment marriage interviews are not being waived as a matter of policy, we have seen a few cases only. they are not going to waiver marriage based interviews because they need to determine that people are actually getting married for the right reasons.

@@SanDiegoImmigrationlawyer my case is one case that cant really be explained. I got my interview for citizenship done on the 2nd December, 2019. My case wasn't approved on that day. She told me they need to check if I don't have a missing documents on my file and therefore they would get back to me in a mail. I asked how long will that take them to do that..she said in some couple of weeks. Please note that I am filing my citizenship base on 5 years of residency in the US and I have been able to fulfill the 30months physically present in the US. Up till this day, I am yet to receive any response from them. I have called to make a service request over again, and yet nothing has been done. I kept mounting pressure on them until I got a email last week that read " The status of this service request is: USCIS systems indicate that your case is awaiting an interview. Your local USCIS Field Office will contact you once they are able to schedule the appointment.
