Doku has been listening to Pep and other players understanding his skill, risk and direct running, will make him a greeeat player. Already a threat to defenders. I loooooooooove him. Classssssssic winger. Faaaar to many Greelish lovers hating and hoping Doku plays poor. D O K U.

@Its-LB That's an interesting observation about the penalty award, everyone celebrated that like a goal. That probably says something about Haaland's impact. Those days where we would actually say 'Oh no, it's a penalty' aren't that far back, he's completely erased it from our mindset.

LB, Pep's decision to take Edison off was spot on. Eddie needs to be protected from himself. Has shown on a few occasions after being injured, he is selfish. So desperate to play, he'd rather stay on injured than let ORTEGA take his place and take the opportunity. Edison 7, ORTEGA 9.8

I knew we had a top defender in Josko in his first game at H to NUFC when he put a stop to a break all by himself through perfect positioning and timing.

The substitutions were forced on Pep due to injuries, they weren't tactical changes. Akanji in big games always has a big mistake in him. The champions league final, he had Pep on his knees, hands on his head then, not quite laying down like last night.

The Ederson one maybe. The Doku one; not really. KDB shook off that challenge, he isn't injured and there wasn't just one choice of sub to make when he did decide to bring KDB off for protection. The timing and the choice of sub there was tactical. I was saying at half time, it was the wrong game for Doku because one counter could be our undoing. A bold call that turned out to be correct, that deserves some recognition.

@@Metali-tin With or without Doku, there are always counters and weird goals conceded...this narrative that Doku's presence particularly upsets the defensive control is not really supported by what we see. People keep talking about control, yet we keep getting bozo moments without Doku.

Every defender for City has a "bozo" in them. Doku was tactical and spot on. ORTEGA is WORLD CLASS. Number one for City imo. Have said it for 12 months.

@@electric_sand I don't think anyone is saying there are no mistakes/turnovers without Doku. It's just a matter of fact that he attempts more takeons than anyone else in the team because that's one of his strengths. Having said that, with Kova at left CM and Gvardiol under instruction not to bomb forward too much when he's on the pitch a lot of that concern about being overexposed should be negated I guess. He's also improved on his decision making as LB said.

@@Metali-tin I get what you mean, and I'm not trying to gloss over Doku's perceived inadequacies...I'm basically highlighting the simple fact that without Doku, the team had lacked control. Prior to the recent uptick, with/without him, "control" has been a scarce commodity. How many times have we complained about goals cheaply given away...or wished for kovacic to be brought on.

Rodri was lower key but a standard performance which is higher than most. Pep needs to rest him faaaar more often. Many moments was there during season to rest him but Pep WON'T. Rodri 7.6

Jasko has had games where he has given ball away on many occasions and made bad decisions. But that's fine, he is V young and learning craft. He has not been "perfect" as being suggested by LB & guest. One for the future for real.

Bernardo CAN be irritating. I rate him HIGHLY but on many occasions I scream at him for like Greelish slowing DOOOOOOWN the counter and shoooooot at wrong moments. 😞😞😞😞😞🎃🎃🎃

LB, if HAAAAAAALAND was playing for Liverpool, he'd score 65 goals in a season. Why at times City struggle to find him after 10000000's of runs he makes, I will neeeever know.

@@phil13730 what is "false" mate. That many of his runs are ignored. Example. Take a look at Nunes or Salaaaaah at Liverpool. I know neither (especially Nunez) score as many, but they are fed more chances. I actually note them down.

Rodri is never bad but the last few weeks he has been below his normal standard. He said he was tired for a reason. it would've taken a lot for an ultimate pro like Rodri to admit that.
