Thank you Dave very informative but you missed out the mains electric inspection and the cost is around £200 which might sound expensive so what is your life worth, that cost inc VAT govt ripoff

£250 for this? And a gas leak missed by my local dealer. I don't need someone to test my blinds and windows. OK, so the gas stuff is important, but £250? I don't think so.

why would you check the gas system at 5 times operating pressure when they are designed to work at a lower pressure, and possibly damage the system components, surely a better way of the testing is by doing a vacuum test

Question: TWO hab check engineers, BOTH fully qualified.. one insists checking gas system at 30mb operating pressure, the other insists it must be 150mb (5x operating pressure) both are incredulous about the other's opinion. Who is right?
