In this clip from the producergrind podcast, we talk with super producer manager, Rico Brooks, about the habits of his most successful artists and producers. The first thing he points out is something that is a little less commonly spoken on and that's talent. Of course working hard and being disciplined is essential but the artist/producer has to be talented.

Cutting off laziness .. if you a producer 99% of the time you do it coz you love it .. only demon is this laziness .. so no matter what you'll be completely focused on this if you can defeat that demon .. !!

@Onetrick Beats if you want to feel comfortable in your comfort zone that's your choice.. obviously your body wants the same .. our body always wants to rest in a stable position.. if you want that you can definitely do that forever remaining the same.. my message was for them who really wants to serve their purpose .. who wants to take risk.. and achieve something rather than resting in a stable position listening to the body.. of course your body wants you to rest.. but it's your choice what you want to do how much you want to rest..

Honestly I’m so focused on making better beats so once I get there I’m promoting myself more cause now the beats I make I feel confident enough to know an artist will like it and it makes me feel better mentally; it also helps with social anxiety

Hate that he said talent. Work ethic > talent. The kid who is in the studio every day making beats is going to be more successful than the kid who’s naturally talented but only makes beats here n there. FACTS.

hard work beats lazy talent …but if talent ever decides to get off the couch, hard work is gonna get his ass kicked. No one likes to admit it, but talent is a huge factor in reaching the top of anything and staying there. There are certain thresholds hard work cannot pass.

Okay, but my question is how do artists or even producers get the initial connect with people like Rico? Not connecting for example with other artists or producers but people like Rico who has connections, how do people connect to people like Rico you know? If an artist or producer is talented, has good work ethic - how can they then bridge that gap?

I'm pretty sure if u good enough they'll find u, so long as u consistently post new stuff and are hella resistant. He don't mention is but resistance a huge factor as well, some may give up before they time cuz of just life
