The last few years have been tough on the Habs, but watching this makes you realize that they are one of the greatest sports franchises the world has ever known.

As much as I hate the Montreal Canadians I had a respect moment where I teared up a little bit seeing some of these players.. Then I saw Claude lemieux and I thought what am I thinking Growing up in boston my whole life. Then it hit me.. Mayonnaise on everything, too many men on the ice and finally Claude Lemieux.... Everything I wasn't driving the zamboni that night.. in the end my dad summed it up... When you say you hate a rival when you can't wait to play them cause it feels good to beat them but in the end what your really saying life would be mundane and boring with out that thorn in your side..So what you think in the end is a great hate Is really respect and honor that always brought out your very best.. congratulations Jojo Materese Boston Massachusetts

Seeing the legends smile like that. Knowing they felt the vibration of this amazing crowd. Is something legendary. The goosebumps and the tears In my eyes right now explain how much this team means to us. I wasn't even alive to see these men play. But i can tell just how amazing they were. You can feel the ghosts from the forum

I'm neutral on the Habs, but Ken Dryden is one of my favorite athletes of all time. as much for his off-ice accomplishments as his stellar goalie play. I've read his books and heard his interviews, incredibly sharp fellow. I bought a Habs T-shirt with Dryden's name and number 29 on the back when I visited Montreal a while ago.

Ken Dryden was my all time child sports hero. I played goaltender as a youth in minor hockey and I tried to emulate my style of play to Dryden's. The Habs of the 70's was so loaded with talent and character. Many heroes with again Ken Dryden being my number one hero. I have a Montreal Canadiens penent with Ken Dryden's signature signed to me. I cherish it very much.🥰

I remember watching this live on TV as a 9 year old and I knew a fair amount of players (mainly the big names) but even I knew how amazing this really was being at that age. The amount of stanley cups between all these players is incredible and the sheer talent of everyone on that ice is mind-blowing.

In the 1976-77 season the Habs set a record of 60 wins, 8 losses and 12 ties for 132 points. They only lost one game on home ice that year. Being a kid at the time I could not recall who they lost that one home game too. FF to when the Canadiens closed down the Forum for the Bell Centre ( btw the Habs forgot to tell the Ghosts the address of the Bell Centre 😄). They produced a hard cover book on the Forum which has the score over every hockey game played in the Forum. Finally I could find out who they lost that home game too in 76-77. I was hoping that it would not be the Boston Bruins (their best and toughest rival even until today). So I am scanning the scores and get into the month of December 1976 when DAMMIT! The game they lost was the Boston Bruins 😩😞😄. I am going now off my memory I think it was December 6 th. or 7th... Ah well Don Cherry's Bruins were the 2 nd. Best team in the NHL those years anyways so that loss was not unexpected one. It would have been worse if the Habs lost to oh say the Colorado Rockies, Washington Capitals, Cleveland Barrons or Los Angeles Kings back then as those teams were not so good.😄

Bostonian here........that was awesome. freaking guys broke my heart many times. One positive note: at the 1 44 mark of the video there is a GORGEOUS brunette. lol i remember watching games on tv from the Forum and they had beautiful women ushers. At the Gahhhhden, our ushers were old retired Irish guys from the subway system. Dryden.........you bastard !!!!!!

The Usherette I grew up with was the Philippino lady with her long black hair. She stood at the Habs bench in the Forum, so you would see her on every TV broadcast of the Habs games. In June 1988 on a cross country travel vacation myself and family visited the Forum. They gave tours of the Forum. As the small group (oh maybe 12-15 of us) of us waited in the front lobby. I soon saw an Usherette in the famed Red jacket with the CH logo and her blue skirt walking up to us... I couldn't not help myself and said," I know who you are, you are the Usherette who stands at the Habs bench every game." She smiled and acknowledge me for that.😊 It was a great tour of the Forum. The dressing room being the hi-lite outside of the Stanley Cup banners and retired numbers banners hanging in the rafters.🥰🥰🥰
