The Utilman.exe executable is an 'Ease of Access' tool that is accessible to users without logging in. This video shows a fast method of exploiting this discovery to launch an administrative command prompt and change the local admin password.

what if ur not running the cmd as Admin?? BTw, you can run cmd from notepad so no need for live boot process. What can be done though with live boot is that u can delete the antivirus folder since u have access to the entire drive. You can then download a payload to backdoor the sytem

At the moment some HD with windows are blocked with bit-locker. So you can't edit the files in there without the block.

U seem to know stuff. If the utilitymanager is utilman.exe.. what file is the login screen executing in? Cuz I've deleted most of the stuff on my drive. Including the login screen file. Can you tell me what file it is?

Company has locked down USB ports via Norton. We can Read and Write only to an encryted file. I need to be able save my data to USB as needed without detection from the Admin. block. Another words either block Norton script or over ride it temporary to save my back ups and work. I cant afford to lose my data. How much of this can IT see. Can they monitor keystrokes and read inside of emails as well, now?

It's not really that useful for example chntpw -i windows\system32\SAM Will let you change the user passwords and activate inbuilt admin account

Well, when I run whoami and I get nt authority\system, but when I run net user, It says access denied :/

It's because you need administrative access. You can get it in the group policy editor

When I try to move the Utilman.exe it says mv cannot move Utilman: Read-only file system

That is usually caused by Windows hibernating instead of fully shutting down. If you cannot initiate a full shutdown, mount has a 'remove_hiberfill' flag that will delete the hiberfill.sys file and force mount the volume in read+write.

might want to mention this won't work if Bitlocker is enabled on the laptop since that is linked to Secure Boot startup. In other words, can't boot any OS

Unplug the cmos battery or take out the hdd and put it in another pc to bypass it. You could also try hacking the bios itself but thats more likely to be done on corporations rather then individuals.

Access %system32% which is holds windows executables and drivers from the command prompt. Go to mount (“mnt”) under the root directory in kali. Just follow the path in the video. You can type the whole path or just consecutive cd’s.

He talks about going into the BIOS to make changes and all. But how you can stop this from happing, is simply locking down the BIOS. You lock the BIOS in the BIOS settings. After you have set a password for the BIOS, NO ONE can get into the BIOS!! 93% of computers, DO NOT have their BIOS locked down!! THATS SCARY!!

@@the_anima_lab it gets unlocked? I don't think you know what unplugging a cmos battery does all the data like your bios settings and your bios's password is stored on the cmos battery if you take it out it unlocks itself and everything resets lmao.

@@the_anima_lab also you can always just unplug the hdd and put it in another pc and do this same exploit the only thing that can protect from physical access is full disk encryption but even that has ways to be bypassed.

I Spam Shift Key + F1, F2 & F3 By Default To Enter A BIOS. Kali Is The Best OS. Your Password On Kali Is "kali". WinBlows Is Just A Fancy Packaged And Obfuscated Version Of Linux Opensource Scripting. Delete System32 To Fix All Windows Issues, Then Install Linux Like You Should Have. XD

Is there a way around those because I have a dell laptop that was given to my uncle for work there a local account and admin local account is forgotten password and when I tried booting through usb the bios asked for admin password is it possible to get past that without replacing any components inside the computer I’ve also tried taking out the tiny little battery In computer to give it a short but still nothing it’s admin locked through everything

You need to take the cmos battery and the laptop battery out as well. Then click the turn on button multiple times. Plug it all back in and the password should be gone.
