Well this was an interesting virtual ride, I can hear that you have proably tried everything and I have to admire your patient persistance. I'm not longer able to ride now so I do virtual rides via KZfaq, like yours and this really took me backto my gelding Magic, who we used to call Maniacal Magic, who's behaviour was very similar. I'm sure you've had a lot of advice offered (whether or not you really wanted it) so I wont stick my six eggs in, except to say when she's going forward she's going really well so congratulations for getting her to do that much, best wishes for thefuture with her. If a horse behave like this there's something really wrong. Either it hasn't been trained well enough or it is in pain. If I were you, I woul check her back and the saddle. My horse was like this too and then we found out that the saddle hurt him really bad, so we got a new one. Since that day he's the sweetest horse ever
@thebayboys85153 жыл бұрын
She encourages her horse to act like this as it gets her attention and views. I wouldn't be surprised if her horse does have something wrong but she has made it 100x worse by encouraging it so she'll never get it looked at as she thinks it's "quirky" to have a horse who acts this dangerously. She has also been trying to put her in foal!

Every horse has moments but that horse has more moments in six minutes than both of mine do in six months, I think it’s irresponsible to take him/her on a road when clearly acting up near the stables, putting the horse, yourself and drivers at risk. It barely takes two people to teach a horse not to rush off with the slightest weight in the stirrup, especially when done with the spinning method. It’ll even work with rearing and bucking. I’ve got a TB and no matter how “fresh” he is (keeping in mind he only came off the track three years ago with 6 years worth of racing under his belt) he has manners both on and off the ground, and will only ever go wild when free schooled or going into the field
@zerogoldblatt86714 жыл бұрын
she's tried everything. you don't know maisies past, this is just the way she behaves. TBs aren't even that fresh or hard to retrain.
@opheliapeters7344 жыл бұрын
Rachel G evewhile ago since I wrote this and honestly I debated answering or not since I totally forgot what happened for me to comment. even if a tb isn’t hard to retrain it doesn’t excuse the fact of riding a horse that can’t behave on the roads, it only takes one moment before an awful incident happens and the horse and rider would be worse off by a mile

Emche 93 She dismounts as it's unsafe, if your horse is cantering and bucking back to the yard when you get on you walk it for a while and then get on, continously struggling with it will just make you and your horse more angry and it's not letting the horse win as you're still getting back on, just not right there. "oH wHy yOu sO aNnOyiNg" I'm happy that you get off her when she is getting frustrated. But come on, you had her for like one year and you still didn't train her properly and neither created a bond with the horse? How much is this horse going to endure? Ya'll say "yOu dOn't kNoW wHat pASt hAd MaiSie" there are many horses with awful past, but if the owner is training them properly and make them not to feel fear anymore, I'm pretty sure the horse will get better. Please, if Maisie is easily scared, work with her. Make her have that confidence in you that I see she doesn't yet. It's not normal for a trained horse to constantly kick and buck with no reasons. *Every horse has potential, you just gotta find it and bring it to light.*
@avatatianapop36694 жыл бұрын
Some trained horses buck when they are fresh and you can't expect a horse with a bad past to become perfect. I used to ride a horse with a bad past, and no matter how many times someone tried to train him to be better he just wouldn't want to cooperate. You don't even know this girl and Maisie so stop judging them and telling them what to do when you only know them through social media :)
@revvy11454 жыл бұрын
Ava Tatiana Pop it’s the fact that it’s happening every single ride. She needs to correct it or both of them could be hurt, when her horse reared on the road imagine if she lost her balance. She could have been really hurt.
@ilovsapinta4 жыл бұрын
Just like dog's who have been abused, or any animals for that matter, you have to adjust your training strategies. Agressive and even too firm of training can do more harm than good. I have been riding for 11 years and I have experience in training. From what I can tell, she either rears when she's frustrated/confused and when she doesn't want to work or do something (not because she's scared, but out of stubbornness). With behavior like this, sometimes you just need to stay and keeep trying to push through it. You stop the horse, you give it what it wants, you get off the horse, (even if you're correcting it) you give it what it wants (though in the video, Maisie was not going in the direction she was being directed to so Laila getting off and leading her was the proper thing to do). If you noticed in the video, when she stayed on and remained persistent, that is when Maizie listened and stopped her behavior. Horse's are stubborn animals and like children, will fight you on doing something, and just like with children, you need to remain persistent. I'd also like to add that when it comes to the severity of the rearing and bunny hops, they aren't that extreme. Every rear I've seen this horse do isn't remotely close to flipping backwards or harming herself in anyway. Not to mention the fact that this horse rears way less than it did when Laila first started working with her.
@ellieclxrke17434 жыл бұрын
