I see it as when he’s relatively calm, he’s burning more efficiently, and when he’s losing it, he isn’t burning as cleanly. TL;DR: Hades did nothing wrong, how does Zeus have a good rep, I wish I could like Christianity but they keep fucking up Hades is basically the nicest god there was He asked Zeus to stop Asclepius from resurrecting the dead, not his fault Zeus heard "set this dude on fire" He basically just gave Eurydice back to Orpheus, not his fault the dude did the one thing he explicitly said "DON'T DO THIS" about He kidnapped and married his niece Persephone, yes - but he loves her, Zeus convinced him to do it, Persephone is happy and in plenty of versions actually went along with it - plus, he didn't rape anyone and this was when kidnapping your spouse was normal (and so was incest) He only screwed over 2 people on purpose, Theseus and Pirithous, and believe you me they deserved it. also there's evidence Kerberos (Cerberus) means "spotted", so this gothic dork named his 3-headed monstrous hellhound "Spot" aight rant over also, Zeus was a serial-raping power-drunken manchild after he became God-King, how the fuck does HE get the good rep and not Hades Judeo-Christian bullshit is how :/ I try to like the damn religion but every glimpse into history tells me "hey check out this thing christianity ruined because muh man in the sky"

Despite the inaccuracies, this is by far my favorite Hades portrayal, since he basically carried half of the movie with his humor and charm, I loved him as a kid. Also, there are far worse depictions of Hades out there, the worst one in my opinion, being the Hades from the Percy Jackson Movie, who was literally Satan as while as a wife abuser. Hades is honestly the best villain people can relate with. And he's the only villain in Disney that admits he deserves being punched for something. And I haven't watched all Disney movies so add villains that admitted on something like that in comments.

I always found one of the funniest scenes being when the titans are released and they seem all scary and dramatic and then hades says “guys, Olympus would be that way” and the rock titan says “Zeus!!” That always killed me so hard as a kid.

I mean looking at actual Greek stories, hades, whilst being the ruler of the underworld. Is probably the best of the gods. Seeing as though pretty much everyone else was either constantly having an affair or killing someone. Hades was pretty chill. I mean this is fun but this also led to a public perception that hades is basically Greek satan that’s only being challenged recently with stuff like... hades. Whatever it’s still fun and I love it.

Really, what I find funny is in most of the originals versions Posiden is usual played up as the closest thing to a devil. Often being the most openly anger and hateful of mortals. Sure, Zeus is selfish and often very childish, but Posiden does things with more malicious intents. Example, some versions state he raped Medusa to make Athena jealous, while a lot of others will go out of their way to say he did more to actively insult her instead. Yet in most modern media Posiden either Zeus' wingman or barely exist, like the clash of the titan movies where he had a single line and then later showed up[played by different actor no less] just to openly die.

Wasn't Poseidon the one who actually conspired against Zeus? Hades was the most chilled dude of the lot, he only ever had trouble with Demeter, as far as I remember.

Yes, more accurately Poseiden is the closest thing to a devil in the pantheon. But nowadays writers either forget he exists or is just Zues wingman. The price of being the middle child nowdays.

Mythologically speaking, Hades was one of the most just, merciful and benevolent gods who never went looking for trouble and ruled his dark kingdom with no complaints.
@vksasdgaming9472 Жыл бұрын
Hades was absolutely without mercy and wasn't benevolent either. He definitely was just and did not look for trouble. Only one person ever managed to bargain with him and even then it was conditional. He did keep his end of that bargain as well. In good and bad. Being ruler of underworld wasn't particularly admired job but it was important.
