you nailed it mate! modern iranians just after their so cold "freedome" they just want to basically bare their ass and hair in the public. that's their current problem. However they are fool and making fool of other persians. by having such a rich literature in mystic sufism, they just blind to the facts that today iran it is what it is so try to self reflect, know your fucking culture before you make fool of thyself . GOD knows im proud of being a persian, but when i see this stupid blind ppl i just wanna hide :(

The freedome Iraninns are dreaming about, is not about wearing the bikinie, (this is what Iran's regime propaganda tries to imply through numbskulls like this commentator ). Showing any musical instrument has been banned in national TV for 41 years so far. Wearing short sleeves in public for MEN was forbidden for many years and it's still banned in governmental organizations for the employees. This man who calls himself a Persian , deliberately misinterprets the freedome seeking Iranians. He seems to be a follower of the islamic revolution's leader ,Imam Khomeini , who has been introducing the act of ease of sexual needs by rubbing their genital in between a female infant as a legit act in his the religious jurisprudence book " Resalah". Freedome means , hsving the right of wearing short sleeves iunder the sin n 45 degrees summer .

I think at least two points are relevant to this very important question: Firstly, 'spirituality' almost inevitably comes in wholly inappropriate packaging - packaging which reflects the concerns of the ruling ideology, which are almost always patriarchal and repressive. It's how it is. Second point: to think beauty is only found in the 'classically beautiful', e.g. the young and attractive female body, as is so often the case, is to interpret the doctrine of beauty in a very unsubtle and literal way. For example, perhaps your overweight and unshaven male partner glances at you in a certain way at the breakfast table, with affection and openness. This might be beautiful, as might the steam rising from the kettle behind him. I do feel there's gold in this stuff, but if you're a westerner like me then we have to go on a very personal and possibly lonely soul journey to translate it, in the broadest sense! If we can do so in a way that brings us closer to love then great, If not then forget it.

There's a documentary "Mystic Iran: The Unseen World" - it might not be as well-known or exist in a "public" sphere, but female religious / spiritual masters and voices have been, and remarkably, still are present.
