It's the Monise family mantra: Fix Cars. Go Racing. Frank Monise Sr. made a name for himself in SCCA racing in the 1950s and 1960s (www.hagerty.co...) while being recognized as one of the best engine builder/tuners around at the time. The tradition continues at Frank Monise Motors with the late Frank Sr.'s son Frank Jr. and grandson Greg. Racing glory, however, only does so much to help a family business stay afloat, which is why Greg and Frank Jr. both arrive early to their shop every day and dig into the minutiae of vintage British cars like this red MGB.

My grandpa had a blue MGB that he got for free cause a tree fell on it and crushed the top, but left the rest of the car intact. He fixed the top, and during the winter, taped housing insulation to the inside and drove it year round.

A very beautiful video that honors the roots of our grandparents, I own a 1979 MGB so thank you for your video. You guys keep up the really good work and don't worry about the down votes because they are still watching your KZfaq channel and the commercials so in there own misguided way they help your KZfaq channel.

Excellent video. Great family tradition. I sold my 64 B last year and now have a 63. A 62 will be next. I have owned Brit cars since 1965. My first was a 53 MG TD MKII followed by A Fairthorpe Electron Climax, 56 MGA, 69 MGC GT, several Thames vans, 46 MG TC, 50 TD built for Bonneville, 58 Sprite, several Morris Minors and 2 Oxfords, 5 Land Rovers from 58-74, 80 SDI Rover etc. Brit and Italian cars were the essence of sport motoring. PS: long time Hagerty customer, none better in the car insurance world.

Thanks. My dad used to race in his 64 B or his 62 A at all the tracks SCCA had in SoCal. Still has his AH 3000.

I think British sports cars from the 60s with hot rod motors in them are going to be the next big custom Automotive trend. They're going to be the big sellers at the auctions real soon.

Ahhhh, I had a Grey 1968 MGBGT fastback that I wished I still had. Your little red one brings back fond memories. I love to get another one, but I can't find one. I saw one not to long ago that looked like the spitting image of my old one. Anyway, nice video...good memories.

@@rickfromthecape3135 They are still out there. However you might consider a 62-64 for the "real deal" in the bare bones 3 main , pull handle cars... or step up to the 68-72 fro the 4 synchro box and limited smog equipment.. pre HP drop and raised suspension.

Garbage car. Get a Miata
@jeffhildreth9244
@jeffhildreth9244 2 жыл бұрын
And you know this because of your extensive experience with the MGB? Please expound. There is a reason that the MGB was the all time highest selling sports car ( over 525 thousand) during a time with half the population now on earth. Their sales were not exceeded until the MIATA was made. MGB remains the most popular "classic" sports car . My brother owns MIATAS (plural) he has owned several Bs and Midgets as well as 4 RX7s... he does track days at Laguna Seca monthly .. and admits there is no thrill of the ride as there is when he drives my 64 or 63 Bs.
