Hagler defends the title he won against the man he fought to a contraversial draw in his first title shot, which many including me, felt Hagler won. Thanks to Simbros for allowing me to upload his downloads to youtube for all you guys to see.

Having a harder head than your opponent is a skill in boxing. Antuofermo was just as guilty of using his head as any fighter I have ever seen. OK, maybe not Holyfield level, but still.

Extraordinary. The antics of the Antuofermo corner men made it so. Equally bizarre was the bleeder's attitude to being cut. When you, a short-armed fighter, lunge in head first what else can you expect? I bet Vito accused all his opponents of illegally causing his cuts.

Antuofermo's corner really pisses me off. It's one thing to protect your fighter, but this was a real exhibition they put on between rounds. Hagler had to wait two years to rematch this guy, then they try pulling shit like this. Is there ever NOT trouble when Panama Lewis is within distance of a ring? Antuofermo was a tough guy but clearly past it. Would have been very interesting if they fought immediately after the first meeting.

Vito had an ugly style of fighting no doubt. I said fighting not boxing because he was not a boxer really. He was what he was but he would go 15 rounds and just smother guys. He had a superhuman chin and unfailing stamina. He wore Hagler down in the first fight, it's really amazing what he did. In this fight Vito looked horrible, he was big and slow. Hagler said he was a different fighter and he sure looked like it to me. He just had three 15 round wars before this fight and Vito was done.

Vito did not look like the same fighter as in the first fight. He was much much slower. Vito looked much bigger and slower. He jumped forward with his head down, as is his intire style and Hagler put his head down and put both hands up after the clash of heads. It was obviously non intentional. Weird fight, the corner was bizzar. Vito was a very unusual fighter, had no power, incredable chin, incedable indurance. He was not a fighter anyone would want to fight because his in fighting was painful, Elbows, head butts, etc. probably unintentional. Hagler had him beat from the beginning of this fight no doubt.

I really wanted to see these two do it again. Antuorfermo gave Hagler more trouble than anyone when Marvin was in his prime. Vito was guilty of the butting on that night. Hagler had a hard head, and any skilled in-fighter knows how to use his head. I never thought he was malicious, just judicial. Vito tried to intentionally butt him in the 4th, after he was getting ripped by hooks and uppercuts. The old announcers missed all of the inside stuff. Guys like Kellerman, and even Roy Jones notice those hard, short shots inside these days. They take their toll.

@@lemankurtz8950......….Worse yet, Lewis was the trainer for Luis Resto and he took the padding out of Resto's gloves in the infamous fight between Billy Collins and Resto. Probably the most disgusting case of cheating known to the sport. Honorable mention goes to Antonio Margarito and his trainer when they were caught in the dressing room before the fight with Mosely. Shane's trainer saw a substance when they were wrapping Margarito's hands, it turned out to be a hardening concrete product of some sort. The question became; caught red handed in that instance, in how many other fights did they do this? It's been pretty much established that Margarito had something in his gloves when he fought Cotto the first time, and how many before that? Imagine if he had that in his gloves throughout his career. Lewis was also the trainer for Aaron Pryor in his first fight against Alexis Arguello in the 'mixed bottle' incident that you mentioned. Were these the only 2 times that Panama Lewis was involved in cheating? I'll believe that the same day that I see an elephant walking a tight rope.

PorkFrog When the top of a fighter’s head hits his opponent’s face it’s never an accident. I’m not sure I agree that a head butt needs a lunge to be a head butt. Hagler is one of the greatest fighters ever. Vito was a tough guy, but not in Marvin’s league. That first fight was a war, though. This one, not so much.

Vito shouldn't even have been in there w Hagler again @ this point. He barely won his tune up fight. & his corner certainly didn't do him any favors. Hagler is the MAN. Ain't nobody disqualifying him 4 U. U gotta put up or shut up 💯

Hagler was, without question, the best middle weight ever. But this was painful to watch. Vito was clumsy, clawing, brawling, wrestling, head butting and his corner was complaining and whining. This was no contest. It was a 3rd grader against Picasso.

Antuofermo charges Hagler. Hagler ducks his head. Vito gets cut. Vito was a tough brawler with very little skill.

You cannot complain about head butts when your whole style is to bull forward with your head down every time. Antuofermo was a tough fighter, but his corner's antics were ridiculous in this fight. He was losing this one no matter what they tried to pull. The commission should have withheld their share of the purse.

When Vito was growing up in Italy, it has been said that when would get into a rock throwing fight, he had no fear and let the rocks hit him! My trainer used to refer to Vito as a "Face-fighter".

The thing about this is, they always hated Marvin. I never saw Marvin lose a fight. This was the first time that I noticed Larry Merchant's hatred of black boxers.

Look at that scar tissue, it's Vito's style - what he lacks in talent he makes up for in recklessness with heads butts and elbows. Freddie Brown is trying to stop it and rip off the fans, and Panama Lewis is another criminal who didn't get their way. Bob Arum had to take control, he's the mob so they had to listen. They and Don King is what ruined the golden era of boxing.

No robbery! Vito as the champ earned his way to a draw in the first fight by answering all what Hagler gave him. The problem was Hagler moving away too much in the fight boxing while Vito pushed. Hagler lost a lot of stamina by moving and boxing. Hagler should have stayed on the inside a lot more in the earlier rounds to force the fight with Vito and put his combinations together. The fight would have been over sooner.
