The biggest take away for me is not only that are these people incredibly wholesome, but that they're incredibly wholesome in spite of a great loss they've all endured. Yet they refuse to let it stop them from appreciating each other and life even though the entire time there's this genuinely sad undertone that they all really miss their mom

Dad was watching a couple who got to grow old together, and it made him miss something he can't have. However, seeing his three boys bring that old couple joy made him realize how lucky he is to have such a wonderful family. Mom's powers are truly working.

It really pisses me off how good this series is...he did a heck of a job raising those boys..

This series is gold. The whole design aesthetic is disarming, priming you for some kind of surreal Ren & Stimpy adjacent pessimistic, gross cultural commentary delivered through a mean spirited veneer of contempt for some or another social group. But the second shoe never drops. It never takes the telegraphed "cheap shot." Instead, each episode is a story of unapologetic wholesomeness, that demands the viewer to self examine their own biases and question why they made those associations in the first place. This is just genius.

This show has such an air like something bad is gonna happen and I can't tell if it's because I've been trained by media to expect calamity to strike an ideal situation to send the heroes on a journey or if it's because of trust issues pertaining to the instability of familial situations in my own life. It is so heartwarming and lovely how nothing bad happens, yet some part of me is waiting, anticipating, *begging* for the status quo to be upturned. It's like a study in expectations in media.

Next vid’s here, wish we could’ve gotten more of their mom’s interactions with the Mayan gods, but we all know she’s more powerful since she died more recently.
