I remember reading about an entire village that was wiped out during a hailstorm of large diameter hail. They were all gathered outside for some reason, and when the hail storm hit, they had no cover, so the hail killed all of them.

That was 8 inches in Vivian, SD. It was almost about the size of a basketball, or even a Soccer ball, July 23, 2010.

When we left with are Bicycles to are house . On our way there were rain drops were starting to fall just when we got our foot on the porch it started to hail really bad and it was baseball size falling from the ground . I was so lucky

is hail always in thunderclouds?¿
@danm66658 жыл бұрын
+Dylan Chhin hail, as he explained, requires massive updrafts to be kept in the air and allowed to form. Such updrafts are typically (if not exclusively) found in Cumulonimbus (thunderclouds) in their formative and mature stages (sometimes before the thunder and lightning occurs). So in short, yeah, they only occur in thunderclouds.

So it goes from sports to sipping tea to sports? I bet a female came up with the tea cup comparison
@INUN0TAISHO5 жыл бұрын
Whut? While I agree the teacup analogy is very silly and superfluous, I see no reason to assume a female came up with it. Actually, it depends more on what strata of society one is in as to how much one uses tea cups over coffee mugs. Practical people use coffee mugs. Plain and simple. Impractical people (I.e. most rich, over-pampered people) like to use tea cups to seem more elegant than others. Expensive cups made of bone china so thin you can see through them. Definitely not practical. Trust me, guys like Trump know their way around tea cups in social situations.

Can hailstones get that big? British people moan about their weather, which is nothing compared to the US. You should see how Britain deals with a little snow.
